MY REVIEW: I have always enjoyed Taco Cabana food. Occasionally you gert sta;e chips like I did a few weeks ago at this location but normally they are not stale. What I am very disappointed in is that they are now watering down their Queso dip.....Huge turn off! Obviously they are cutting corners thinking we wouldn't notice. Seriously? What else are they cutting corners on? Come on Taco Cabana bring the original Queso dip back. Your watered down version is aweful!

MY REVIEW: I always leave having enjoyed the taste and wondering why I don't come more often.
Yah the place is not the cleanest but I've never gotten sick from eating there. Most of the problem is just appearance. They installed a tile floor with deep grout lines. Dumb. They can't keep it clean.
They could bus the tables more frequently but it's rarely an issue.
If they had a tip jar, I'd throw some in.

MY REVIEW: Every few months or so, I have stopped by a Taco Cabana for lunch and, each time, I have exited in disgust before placing my order. I stopped again today for lunch at the Eastex Freeway location and it was worse than ever. I now officially give up. Taco Cabana used to be a very fresh, tasty, and reasonably-priced place to eat lunch. Those days are apparently ancient history.
The past few times I have stopped for lunch at both the Eastex Freeway and the Kirby locations, I discovered the tables and floor were inexcusably littered with used styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, paper cups, napkins, and liquid spills. The salsa bar was generally empty with spilled condiments scattered around the self-serve area. Each time I have stopped for lunch, I honestly witnessed my personal definition of “unappetizing”.
Additionally, a quick visual scan of the restaurant upon each visit revealed employees standing around who, in my opinion, clearly did not give a darn about their workplace's appearance.
I marvel about what keeps this chain in business. Please clean up your act, Taco Cabana -- not too many few years ago, you were a genuinely good place to eat lunch. I would like to see you restored to your former goodness.

MY REVIEW: this place has gone completely downhill. drinks covered in sticky goo, never get salsa when you ask for it. the last time I went there (last week), through the drive thru; when I got home I did not have any guacamole or sour cream for my quesadilla, and the quesadilla had nothing in it. maybe two pieces of chicken with a tiny bit of cheese - no pico as requested. the tea tasted like they made it a few days before.
I called an complained to the manager who said "I am sorry" and hung up.
I used to come to this location at least 2x a week - not any more. I have had it.

MY REVIEW: When we got a TC in Pearland I was excited, unfortunately this one isn't as great as most of the others.
The few times I've been here the food just wasn't as good, one day I went through the drive through my barbacoa taco was drenched in grease, as well as my chorizo and egg taco. The entire tortilla was soaked. It didn't look like they bothered to drain the grease.
This one doesn't stay open 24/7 like most do. It's only open all night long on the weekends.

MY REVIEW: I GO ABOUT EVERY OTHER FRIDAY FOR A BEEF TACO DINNER AND CHIPS AND QUESO. I GET TWO MEALS OUT OF IT. I LIKE THE RICE, AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE TACOS AND HOT SAUCE. ABOUT 1/10 TIMES I GET STALE CHIPS AND ONCE GOT BURNT/CLOTTED QUESO, BUT THERE RECORD IS AS GOOD AS ANYBODY'S EXCEPT MAYBE C*HICKFILA WHICH HAS TERRIFIC SERVICE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT ABOUT TACO CABANA IS THAT I WISH THERE WAS ONE CLOSER TO WHERE I WORK.

MY REVIEW: Taco Cabana is usually pretty bad, but this location is the absolute worst. I don't know how they manage to keep the doors open. This visit was the last straw. I've said that before, but this time I'm done! I could only make it through about a 1/4 of my fajita beef nachos because the chips had such an over-powering spoiled oil after taste and the meat was like fatty scrap. I'm old school and still dream for the day when 'Two Pesos' comes back to town. Those guys knew how to do it! Why.. oh.. Why did Taco Cabana have to win that lawsuit ?!

MY REVIEW: I've "eaten" here twice. That's in quoatation marks cuz it takes me about three bites before I give up, totally disappointed. The first time was about six months ago, so for the second time, I figured it maybe could be better. Not so! Another waste of time and money on the worst Mex food I've ever tasted , unless you count a dollar store frozen Mex dinner which is not completely heated all the way through. One specific , OK? Cuz I am not a gourmet. But when have you ever seen rice in an enchilada? Yuk!

MY REVIEW: This place is convenient to where I live, but that is about the only favorable thing I can say. I've had screwed up orders in the drive through too, but this happens everywhere, and at the risk of being less than politically correct, I think it is more of a language problem than anything else.
I like their fajitas and would buy them a lot more often if I could get just the meat/tortillas/condiments only. Unfortunately everything -- EVERYTHING -- comes with those nasty refried beans and dry overcooked reheated rice. The last time I tried to order just the meat and tortillas (by walking in and going face to face at the counter) the clueless order taker couldn't handle it. He kept trying to make me buy the "family meal" and I kept explaining that I didnt want to pay for a bunch of food I wasnt going to eat. I came away with a small container of the beef and 6 tortillas, and spent almost $9.
On the plus side, their flour tortillas are always fresh, soft and FAT. I could eat several all by themselves, and they're better than the flour tortillas at any other Mexican restaurant in the area.

MY REVIEW: The food is fresh and the staff is great, especially the lady who works the drive through in the evenings. She is usually busy, but treats everyone very well, and never messed my order up once, and I usually order for a large family. Good customer service, is hard to find these days, so I appreciate it when I find it.

MY REVIEW: I eat at Taco Cabana all the time (the Mason Rd. location) and I have never had to wait 15 minutes in line, and I have never had my order botched.
For a 15 minute wait to occur it sounds like either someone new was working the register or it was something with the customer - people always seem to blame the restaurant for long lines when most of the time it is actually the customer/s slowing everything down.
I don't go to Taco Cabana for the service, anymore than I go to Mc*Donalds for their service. I go because I can get a decent meal, for an affordable price, in a quick time, without a whole lot of hassle. I usually get the Beef Fajita Nachos. Something you can't get at Taco Bell. The personal order is enough to fill you up, but usually get the bigger one and split it (it's cheaper that way). I like the atmosphere inside, and their patio out. And the fact they are open 24/7.
I think Taco Cabana is a step up in food quality from Ta*co Be*ll (although, you pay for it).

MY REVIEW: I've been going to Taco Cabana since the early 80s (when I lived in San Antonio). I preferred it then when they had tacos by the number and they didn't have all the meals. The outlet I have visited most is on the Katy Freeway between Kirkwood and Wilcrest. Their chicken tacos are grisly, their ground beef tacos are greasy, but their beef fajita (used to be beef al carbon) tacos are still good. Add a little guacamole and you're ready to go. My only complaint with those is the price. They cost way too much for what you get, and I'd stop going entirely if I didn't like them! Oh well.

MY REVIEW: It had been about 15 years since we'd eaten at a Taco Cabana and will probably be another 15 years before we go again. Incredibly bad service (at a walk-up counter!) for mediocre food. We visited twice in November because of some coupons we received in the mail. Both vists were marred by 10-15 minute waits in the order line; the family in front of us on our first visit left in exasperation (their order was botched beyond reconciliation). On our second, most recent visit, it was our order that was botched; after about 10 minutes it was finally corrected.
Although Taco Cabana "may" be a cut above Tac*Bell, they are still fast food (or supposed to be anyway). Their food is not worth a 15 minute wait and many hassles just to place the order!

MY REVIEW: I don't see how anybody can complain about this place for breakfast. They have about the cheapest breakfast in town and the ones tried are all good.
As others have said, their Mexican food isn't much but I do like their ground beef Cabana bowl. I cover it with diced onions and jalapenos. We eat here about once a week.
