We went for a late breakfast around 1:30 p.m. Immediately I noticed how dirty the floors were (straw wrappers, napkins, food). My eggs were overcooked and everything greasy. I lost my appetite because our waitress decided to started lifting tables directly in my view and start sweeping all the trash in this giant pile. She walked off and left the pile there! The North FWY location is not who I am reviewing, but I didn't see the location I am looking for on the drop-down menu. I am reviewing the location on Gessner, near Mills by WillowBrook Mall. Just as a quick outline: They sat us at a dirty table, we didn't have a server greet us for about 10 minutes and the food was OK. The coffee was good and the food came out very fast once ordered. Basically, if based off of that experience alone, I wouldn't return. However, I do know that Denny's can do better and has decent food at times, so although I will go back, it won't be to this location. We go for dinner once in a while and the staff is nice. The food is good. It is Dennys but I enjoy the atmosphere and food. The breakfast are great also. I sit at the counter if I can. I went there for 4 straight days once and was treated very well. I went to the one on west airport @ 59 and though I was the only one standing there, they would not seat me. One girl kept calling the other girl to seat me. The other girl would not seat me. 20 min laters the first girl seats me and never comes back to take my order. 15 min later my order get's taken by a third person. would not make a sub for something I wanted. 0ne french toast in place of 3 pancakes. South Loop did each day. We were a party of 8 and the manageress tried to 'force' us to pay the service charge, despite having to send back food, go and get our own coffee and wait an incredibly long time to get served. She argued it was part of the bill and could not be removed ! Never heard of that nonsense before. They weren't short handed just short on service and quality. I've been back twice and they are consistently bad. The food is average. The servers hover in corners leaving your drinks empty while they chat. There seems to be no "manager" in sight. The last time I went the server took forever to bring me my check, could not seem to get my order right, was inattentive with the beverages and after all the crappy service, snatched the receipt out of my hand because "he forgot to charge me for coffee." I filled out a complaint card and opted to NEVER eat at Denny's again. I'll take I*HOP any day.
