MY REVIEW: I really like this place! Love things like the personal touches (pictures, hard wood floors, homemade fudge for sale along with awesome cookies and candies) Was a little put off first time I went that you have to order upfront with a meu on the wall instead of at a table with a menu in hand so you can think about what to get. BUT I have come to love this style bcs I get my food quicker (seems like). Price are higher than I would pay at say fast food or pizza place but for what you get, service, speed and Great Bread it is a great deal.

I have had thier "Chicken Dieat plate" and thier Tuesady special of fried Shimp. It is great. I have never tasted a chicken that is so moist and the shrimp batter is crisp and tasty. I love the feel of so many people there and the hum of all the conversations going on. Its a nice size place but you still get the down home coziness.

Have gooooood Soup, homemade bread and salad area. Try it!

MY REVIEW: Food was bad. Chicken dry and burnt, the ribs were awful, tasted better at Chili's.The beans tasteless, and the brisket, well let's just say that my attempts were much better and I dod not cook brisket anymore as it was so bad. I will never go there again. They owe me $32. This was my first time and will not waste my time or money again.

MY REVIEW: Drove by Joe's on Sunday, 9/14, just after Ike came through and Joe had the smoker going in the parking lot with 20 or 30 people in line. Don't know if he was selling it or giving it away, but I bet those people appreciated a hot meal on the first day of many without power. Way to go, Joe!

And we eventually did find gas that day, after driving to the far side of Rosenberg.

MY REVIEW: I absoulutely love Joe's BBQ. Their southern hospitality is excellent. Diane always waits on us and makes us feel at home each time we go there. Ribs are mouth watering and steaks are to die for. I highly recommend this place if your are ever traveling through Alvin, TX. A warning on Tuesday nigths get pretty packed due to all you can eat shrimp night, but it is all well worth the wait.

MY REVIEW: First three times I visisted Joes I was very pleased with the meal. Today when I decided to make the trip down to Alvin I came away very disappointed. The sausage was rubbery, pork ribs had muiltiple bones, and the beans and potato salad was very average. The sea food buffet is ok if you do not mind cold fried shrimp. I should not be as harsh considering they were packed with people and the average age was 65, but it was not what I had grown used to.

MY REVIEW: The first couple of times, my expectations were not met, but this last time, the Pork Rib Plate, (which I order every time, for consistancy) was mouth watering, melt in your mouth tender. I've been in a lot of BBQ places across the states, even in Memphis, but Texas BBQ beats them all, and Joe's is as fine an example as any. Perfect sauce!

MY REVIEW: Some of the best BBQ in the Houston area, hands down. The 2-meat plate is a great deal with loads of food. Only downfall I found was they don't give a 'generous' portion of sauce, but asking for an extra ladel of it isn't a problem. Two bbq sauce drenched thumbs up.

MY REVIEW: Everybody doesn't know my name here, but I have eaten at Joe's for many years. I now live in North Houston, and made a special trip to eat here a couple of weeks ago. All of my previous visits have been very good. However, this time, I was extremely disappointed. I think I caught the place on a bad day. The food we ordered was only luke warm, not hot, and the service was just horrible. The staff on this day must have been in a bad mood, because almost every person we encountered were in very poor spirits, and just plain rude. I will think twice next time I think about making that "special" trip to Joes. Customer service needs some serious review.

MY REVIEW: Ate at Joe's last Friday and liked it. Nice big place, nice people and plenty of places to sit. Had brisket, sausage, slaw and beans and loved every bit. The sauce was a little bland, prefer a little zip, but the meat and sides were super. Didn't try the seafood buffet or I might still be there. Beth has a game near there next week so I will do some more research.

MY REVIEW: Joe's BBQ did NOT sell. That was just a rumor. Joe is still there almost everyday sitting out front during lunch. Do you know how long Joe's has been in Alvin? They started off in a little bitty restaurant right next to his brother's meat market. So until you hear it from Joe - STOP THE RUMORS!!!

Joe's is still the best place to get BBQ anywhere!!!

MY REVIEW: We drove by Joe's after a weekend trip to Galveston. After reading the reviews on this site, we decided to make the drive from Sugar Land last Sunday. We tried the brisket, links, and turkey. It was definetly NOT worth the drive. We could've saved ourselves 20 minutes by just going to O*tto's @ The Fountains, which has a very similar taste in the meat and sauce. My husband had one word - L*ULING. So, our Sunday barbeque spot will have to remain @ L*uling's on Richmond.

MY REVIEW: Great Food (Brisket, Burgers, CF Steak, sausage...), Great Prices, always great service, free Ice Cream and Cobbler for the Kids every day... I would have to say it is the best BBQ in the Houston area unless R*udy's BBQ ever builds in Houston.

My only complaint is last weekend I finally decided to try the Beef Ribs. They were the toughest, stringiest, most disgusting thing I have ever seen or attemtped to eat. I told my wife to watch as I bit into one and pulled, twisted, and yanked trying to pull meat off of the bone.... wasnt going to happen without losing some teeth. They claim they sell out of these because they are so good... so I do nto knwo what happened last weekend. I will never stop going there but will never eat. or attempt to eat, ribs there again.

MY REVIEW: Ever since Lynchberg C*rossing Restaurant closed down...I have not had a favorite place to eat fried shrimp. Yea, P*appas Seafood is good, and so was E*rnie's, but now Joe's Fried shrimp on Tuesday nights are my favorite...for a dollar more get the stuffed baked potato, you can't beat it and it is less expensive than P*appas seafood and other Houston Restaurants. It is yummy-good!!!~

MY REVIEW: The ordering was a bit too fast paced and the menu slightly confusing. I don't know that I was able to really figure out what I wanted. What you would have to do is put on the brakes, study the thing, and upset everyone behind you. Anyway, the link sandwich was huge and awesome. Great sausage and sauce. The cole slaw was good, but the potato salad was amazing! A must have. I also sampled some sliced beef and it was great too. Tons of food and the prices were reasonable. Other things I noticed were that the buffet, like someone already said, was all fried foods; the complimentary bread was some of the thickest Texas toast around; and the service in the dining room was excellent. This place is quite good, just take your time with the menu.

MY REVIEW: The salad bar is super! They have all kinds of plates and combinations. The buffets are well-stocked, but mostly fried foods. You can read the tables while you eat. The wait staff courteously refills your drink and will get you whatever you forgot. The place is usually full of families. The local and state police often stop in, so you know it's good food. My only complaint is that the prices are a little high.

MY REVIEW: We have eaten at Joe's BBQ in Alvin, TX for a couple of years...when we go to Houston. The food is good and it is not too expensive; we like the seafood buffet. There is always a big crowd and we have to wait in line but we don't mind. We like the building and the old decorations inside. Of all the places in Houston to go out and eat, we chose Joe's Barbeque as the place to have our last meal of the year! We look forward to going back again!!

MY REVIEW: best bar-b-que in the houston area. fantastic pork and beef ribs. The best slced beef in the world. If you order the "monster" size bar-b-que stuffed baked potatoes, make sure you have a couple of friends to share it with you.

MY REVIEW: Stopped to eat with wife & daughter while visiting in Alvin, having been there about 3 years ago. Wife got a chicken plate & daughter got beef plate & both were fine. I opted for the all you can eat beef rib plate & it was dreadful. The first plate of ribs (3) were dry, tough, stringy and obviously not very fresh. The second plate (also 3) was a little bit better but not good enough to ask for more. I ate my potato salad & cole slaw, both of which were very good, but the ribs did nothing to satisfy my appetite. This was a waste of $10.95 & I doubt if I'll go back again, at least not for beef ribs.

MY REVIEW: When I first moved here, it took me forever to find a good old-fashioned BBQ place. I must say this place is excellent and inexpensive enough to even take even the heartiest of appetites.

They have all-you-can-eat buffets every night but my favorite is the fried shrimp night. The shrimp is lightly battered and fried to perfection. Try it and you will be addicted.

This is a "THUMBS UP"!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Okay, First of all, If your looking for beefy ribs, this is the place. All you can eat on the weekends, for about $9.00, which includes 2 side dishes and bread. I also recomend their chicken fried steak and their grill steaks. It's buffet style when you first get your order, then they have waitresses to bring you seconds and thirds. It's not a place to go if you want quick, they are extremely busy on the weekends. The atmosphere is very rustic, which is good if you have kids or if your looking for some place casual. My family and I highly recomend this place, it's one of our favorite places.
