MY REVIEW: Very disappointing dinner!! We moved into the neighborhood recently and my husband and I were excited to try this place. However, the food was average and the service was horrible. It took about 15 mins to bring bread and that was only when we asked. We ordered a salad, pasta dish and pizza. The salad came first and was okay however when the entree came the waiter only had the pasta. He left very quickly so I assumed he was going to get the pizza. When he never returned I flagged him down and asked him about the pizza. He didn't even remember that we had ordered it and said he would put in the order. We finally told him to forget about it and bring the check. When he brought us the check he tried to take my husbands plate (remember I never had an entree b/c mine never came) while he was still eating. We felt like he was rushing us out of the restaurant. Overall, I was very upset b/c we were hoping to find a good local restaurant that we could walk to. It is amazing to me that this place could last for so long with the average food and poor service!

MY REVIEW: Strong: Black Pepper Pasta/Shrimp very good. Option of small size on some entrees is an excellent, thoughtful idea. Appreciated the menu noting which entrees are "healthier" choices.
Weak: meatballs poorly done, no flavor & very institutional texture.
Service, although prompt (at 5 pm there were only 3 other tables), made us feel hurried and unwelcome & we were out of there by 6. Perhaps the waitress was having a bad day. Hospitality was non-exhistant.

MY REVIEW: All and all this is a good local restraunt. Nothing to write home about but very good still.
My husband, son and myself went there for dinner last night. The service was great. We didn't have to wait for anything but this was a Tuesday night and the restraunt seemed about 2/3 full so no wait to be seated at all. Our food was served very quickly as well.
We ordered the Steak Calamari and it was done really well and the sauces that came with it were really nice. Now, the O.K. to bad part. The tea had no flavor at all. Our son had the cheese pizza and it looked like a frozen pizza (kids menu). I ordered the Chicken Picata with spaghetti and marinara sauce. The flavor of the sauce for the chicken was really nice but my chicken was a dry. The sauce from the chicken mixed with the marinara sauce for the spaghetti on the same plate and made the spaghetti taste yuck. I would have rathher had the past plain and used the picata sauce. My husband had a hard time deciding what to choose because you either had chicken, chicken or fish (one italian sausage dish). He was really hoping for veal parmisiana but no luck so he ordered the lasagna. He only ate about half of it. The menu just didn't fit his palate. Again, it was just O.K.

MY REVIEW: I was hoping no one would notice this amazing eatery, but some of you have let the bobcat out of the designer bag. This place is everything you could ask for in a neighborhood restaurant, good food, cheap wine and an eager waitstaff. You can even ask for special dishes to be prepared, I like the Calamari steak egg washed and griller over angle hair pasta with a marinara sauce. It's consistantly wonderful. I'm not positive if the Ceasar dressing is made in house, but it taste's wonderful, lots of parmesan. Yes, the place gets busy for lunch and dinner, but if you have to wait, it'w well worth your time. I live in Bellaire and when the weather is pleasant it's worth the walk to not worry about parking.

MY REVIEW: I hadn't been here in about 4 years. The waiter must have been new. The bread came and 10-15 minutes later the tea (very weak). I told the manager and he brought us another glass which was fine but he forgot to bring my limes. About 5 minutes later I see the manager at the bar talking and laughing with a friend. Service was slow and understandable for the new waiter but for the manager to forget and for no one to come ask how was everything was unprofessional. Had I not been at the mercy of the person who invited me (because she paid for me but I have to reimburse her), the waiter would not have been tipped at all.

MY REVIEW: For our latest excursion of the Super Secret Tuesday Night Happy Fun Time Dinner Club (SSTNHFTDC), we chose to dine at Auntie Pasto's based on the glowing reviews. We were not disappointed and we had a wonderful dinner. The calamari steak as an appetizer was excellent. The crawfish ravioli lived up to the hype and the black pepper crawfish fettucini was also well-loved. The chicken parm and the cilantro fettucini (but kinda heavy on the cilantro) were also good, but the group definitely preferred the ravioli and the black pepper dish.
We finished our meal off with the "To Die For" dessert. It reminded us of the Napoleon cake at Le Madeline's and that is a good thing as we gobbled down dessert.
We love this place and we will definitely come back in the future! Food rules!

MY REVIEW: So many wonderful choices on the menu that you can eat healthy or naughty ! Prices are very good and the staff, although young and sometimes in a hurry, are always super nice. Thats why we keep going year after year. "A notch or two above O*live Garden" ??? I think they need to try some different items or some of the specials.

MY REVIEW: Staff is always friendly and helpful. Nice setting and location. Food is okay but is basically just Americanized Italian food. A notch or two above O*live Garden but too many of the items are way too heavy on cream based sauces or cheeses.

MY REVIEW: I don't know what "readwithem" is talking about, we go there all the time and the service is always good. Of course we go there for the food but the young people they have working there are always super to us. 3 thumbs up.

MY REVIEW: We went on a Thursday night thinking we would get better service, as this place is ALWAYS crowded. Boy were we wrong. Guess since we were new, they thought it was okay to ignore us. We had horrible service and they got our order mixed up. Did they apologize? Did they offer to make restitution? Nope. Did we make a return visit? Nope. Once burned twice shy as the saying goes. We'll stick with C*ollinas for Italian.

MY REVIEW: Auntie Pasto's has to be one of the best "neighborhood" restaurants in Houston. The service is consistly good - the waiter/waitress is there when needed but they don't hover. There are many dishes that my wife and I have come to enjoy in the fifteen plus years we have dined there. My wife loves the chicken milano with sun dried tomatos and the salmon/pasta dish, while I like the crawfish ravioli and anything with their Tuscano sauce (they'll make it with your choice of pasta and clams, shrimp, or chicken). Try their "house ice tea". It tastes like a mix of lemonade, tea, and fruit juice - I love it.
Can't tell much about their desserts because we are always too full to try - portions are very generous.

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit to Auntie Pasto's and I ordered the Eggplant Parmagiana with the side of pasta. The Eggplant was AWESOME!! I was in a large party so we called ahead and was seated immediately. The place is small but cozy and I definately will be back!

MY REVIEW: We absolutely love the crabcakes with the tomato basil sauce!! It is divine! Yes, the parking is gets full out front, but they've added parking in the back. The menu is varied and the portions are ample. Most of the time, we have to get a doggie bag. They have a large variety of pasta dishes. There's always one for every mood!
