MY REVIEW: quaint atmosphere and great selection for both breakfast and lunch. i have always gone with a group and everybody loved their food. same dude runs the register and takes your order, the only blight on this otherwise great place. not friendly at all and acts like he could care less we were there. get past that and enjoy your meal

MY REVIEW: Great atmosphere, but don't get the Reuben Sandwich - that is, if you like Reuben Sandwiches. The worst I've ever had. Beyond help. Large chunks of corned beef that had been grilled like bacon, tough and hard to chew through. And cheddar cheese! Really beyond help.

My friend had a club sandwich and said it was pretty good, but waaaaay too salty. I've enjoyed earlier visits more - a tasty burger, good potato soup. But tell them to hold the salt, and whatever you do, don't get the Reuben.

MY REVIEW: It is surprising how people will continue to go to a place just because it is popular and has a line. I prefer to eat my eggs without a cloud of cigarette smoke around my head. Anybody can cook breakfast, but it takes a special place to get it to the table before it stops steaming, and this place is not one of them...

MY REVIEW: Fountainview Cafe is one of the best lunch spots in the Galleria. My favorite item is the chicken salad sandwich and homemade fries. It's also nice to order at the counter and then have someone deliver right to your table. It's down home and comfortable - even though you still see Beemers, Lexus, and Hummers in the parking lot!

The place has been there a very long time and could use some remodeling - but only if they can keep the casual, unpretentious atmosphere.

MY REVIEW: Great jalepeno burgers. Great breakfast offerings. Friendly and responsive staff that are not encumbered by the computerized network of the competition.

Not for snooty, stuck-up, new-rich that like to run down their fellow human beings. Fountainview Cafe is a place where old money goes for breakfast and burgers.

Four stars on food, service and value. New-Rich/wannabees -- go elsewhere.

MY REVIEW: Absolutely my favorite place for breakfast or lunch. Food is terrific, best burgers and BLTs in town, and the cheese grits are a nice breakfast treat.

MY REVIEW: Don't worry if you go twice a week for the next ten years. Nobody is going to know your name. The gate keeper, who holds the record for longest incompetent occupancy of a job, collects your money and stares at you while you tell him your order. Get past him, choose a table and wait for your typical eggs and bacon type of fare. If your breakfast comes out cold, however, you're in trouble. Instead of cooking a new order, your cold eggs and ham get taken up a notch on the grill and land back on your plate. Letting the register robot know about the problem resolves nothing. "Yes, the cook did prepare you a fresh breakfast and no, the brillo pads that are the burnt sausage were just made." My advice? Buzz over to A*valon Grill and get some real food until the Cafe wakes up their Human Resources manager and hires a nice guy for the morning grind. Life's too short!

MY REVIEW: This is our favorite place for a casual lunch in Houston! Best food (especially hamburgers!)

Our one complaint : we wish they would do away with having a smoking setion. The smell of the smoke permeates a portion of the nonsmoking section.

Fortunately, most of the time there are no smokers there, but when there are, it's not pleasant.

MY REVIEW: The new take home dinners are FABULOUS!

We had stuffed Pork Tenderloin with Dirty Rice. It was wonderful, generous portions, enough for a second helping! We will definitely be taking home dinner often!

Thanks for the new idea! It's GREAT ONE!

MY REVIEW: Oh my God! My favorite breakfast place now sells wonderful dinners package to take home. I was in for my regular weekend hangover relief and the owner talked me into taking home the best lasagna I have ever had anywhere. The next week we tried the chicken enchillads and they were awsome. I can't wait to see whats next. It's the next best thing since they don't stay open at night.

MY REVIEW: Just stopped in for a coke and had a piece of their homemade German chocolate cake. It's just like granny used to make ... moist, flavorable and the icing is filled with lots of pecans and coconut. They may not have it everyday but when they do, you really should try a slice.

MY REVIEW: Well, Mr. Personality at the counter on Sunday is not exactly fun friendly but he gets the job done quick and keeps the line moving fast. The food? Excellent. If you are a burger person, you will not be disappointed with the selection and the prices. Fries are a la carte, and are a la delicious.

Breakfast is out of this world and is a cacophany of flavors that explodes in your mouth with delight. From pancakes to fruits to grits, this place does the whole thing well. The bacon is perfect and the orange juice is fresh.

Personally, my friends and I frequent the joint for hangover relief on Sunday morning and it is definitely worth the wait in line. Just make sure you know what you want to order when you get there, otherwise you may look like an idiot.

MY REVIEW: For everyone that likes good food.... fountain view cafe is the place! Everything i have ever eaten there has been delicious.... but i must point out in particular the BLT's. I have eaten quite a few bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches, but the ones from FV are incredible!! Noone ever just eats there once by the way... it will become your favorite place to go after just one visit...

MY REVIEW: I had almost forgotten how good the breakfasts are at Fountainview Cafe. Definitely some of the best breakfasts in Houston. The only problem is choosing from all the selections. Definitely a place I'll be revisiting often.

MY REVIEW: This is the place I go when I am in the mood for a good burger and a malt ... not many places offer the combination. Their malts and shakes are hand-made (none of that stuff from those machines). They are rich and thick and served in a frosted mug with enough for another mug or two in the blender which they also bring to you. At times I have had the waiter turn the mug upside down to show how thick they are. With those it takes three straws to suck them up.

Their only shortfall is they close everyday at 3:00 PM.
