MY REVIEW: Strong points. The hot buffet in the deli area can be quite good. But usually not for vegetarians. Yes, they have beans, rice and veggies but the hot entrees are usually something like pasta fettucine or something.

I LOVE their spinach and mushroom enchiladas but they don't often have them on the hot buffet. When they have a tofu entree, it usually isn't that great. I wish they wouldn't serve slabs of tofu, grielled. Not cup of tea and I suspect most people pass it up. Gives the chef an excuse to add more meat entrees since the tofu entrees don't sell well (no surprise given the lack of creativity.)

Oh well, I like their salad bar even if it is a bit overpriced. The pecan feta salad that comes "pre-dressed and wilted" with some kind of oil and vinegar dressing is quite good. I get some every time I visit the store which is usually several times per week.

I like the "365" store brand. It never has MSG or other additives that are considered unhealthy. I like their brand of box cookies because they have regular can sugar instead of "high fructose corn syrup". These are the little things that keep me coming back.

MY REVIEW: The produce/salad bar & olive bar are nice. The deli meats are okay. & the stockers are very nice & go out of their way to help you. But the parking situation is a mess; the store is a narrow maze designed by a sadist; the food is extremely expensive & the checkers are the rudest I've ever encountered anywhere in my entire life. I'm talking junior high rude. I'm talking rude that crosses over into meanness. So if you want to fight some yuppie in a Hummer for a parking space; pay $7.00 for a head of cauliflower & be treated badly by the checkers, then this is the store for you!

MY REVIEW: Well, I LOVE Whole Foods Market and have been a customer for years in both Houston and Dallas. The new Sugar Land store is awesome with great variety and the same great customer service. HOWEVER, the prepared food area needs some training and attention. I went in at 5:00pm one day (prime dinner time) and the soup area of prepared foods was completely nasty. Soups were burned inside the containers and spills/leftover food everywhere. I've observed this at least several times a week. They also do not have enough inside seating. It seems crazy to me that in Houston of all places you only have about 20 indoor seats. The outside seating is great but I would only use it about two months out of the year here! The free Wi-fi is great!

MY REVIEW: I stop by here every 2 weeks for produce, meat & the cleaning supplies. I never have had any problems. I never have had a problem with the produce as it has always been fresher than any grocery chain. I buy my meat from them because they are yes free range & they are not pumped with any steroids, or hormones etc. Why would one want to eat meat that has that in them & has been living in a cage? The below comment from "Me" I can only guess is they must be a veggiterian that is disgusted by meat.

All the employees have bent over backwards at this location too as well. No complaints from me here! :)

MY REVIEW: I only go there once in a while for their mediocre bulk-foods section as it is the only one in this part of town. For an over-priced store claiming to be fresh & abundant, what's with the moldy or out-of-stock garlic? Had to go to Randall's next door for fresh garlic.

As for "ambiance," don't appreciate having to pass by a pile of chunks of bloody meat in the PRODUCE section. Then there's their propagandized delusions of grandeur about their pseudo "social consciousness" and spreading the "free-range" "happy meat" myth.

MY REVIEW: I love Whole Foods and I feel good about buying my groceries there. The Bellaire location is MY location and I stop in a couple of times each week. They have a good variety of organic veggies. The salad bar/hot food bar usually has very tasty choices with vegetarian/vegan options. The prices are generally lower than buying from the health food section of the megastore grocers. Staff is exceptionally nice and the guy in the deli is hugely funny!

MY REVIEW: I knew the Bellaire WFMarket was going downhill when they got rid of the bulk pasta. I know they don't make as much money on it, but read the name of your store! Also, the checkers and other off again/on again rude folks there seem to be the rejects from the Kirby/Alabama store. The bulk foods guy once insisted white flour was really whole wheat when they were clearly out of whole wheat, and if your nails aren't shiney enough, you have to throw grapes (if you can afford them) at the butchers to get their attention. I think the store is a reflection of the very narrow socioeconomic make up of the neighborhood in the surrounding area; that's cool, but remember the demise of the previous store there.

MY REVIEW: Everytime I make the mistake of running in for a few items,I berate myself and say never again.I am a somewhat trendy person however not when it comes to my grocery shopping.Overpriced produce, both meat and fish.I am not a packaged food person so their wonderful assortment of boxed and canned pretty packaged food does not impress me.Their assortment of fresh veggies is mediocre at best.If you are a trendy label driven person, this is the place for you.If you actual cook your food, try a real grocery store with a large assotment of different ,reasonably priced fresh offerings.

MY REVIEW: We love the Wgole Foods store but was disappointed that you did not have gluten-free baked goods in the bakery..........We were told that you only receive gluten-free bread on Thursday and that by Friday it is sold out. We are from out of town (Lake Jackson, Tx) we visit Whole Foods Market when we are in Houston for doctor's visits etc. and cannot always be in Houston on a Thursday. I read recently that Whole Foods has gluten free bakeries in other states and they have a huge selection of wonderful Gluetn Free baked goods.....Since Whole Foods started in Texas I think we should have a Whole Foods GF bakery located in TEXAS.....

MY REVIEW: If you need seitan or a wide variety of vegetarian foods, this is the best place to go. One day I went to several health foods stores looking for seitan (wheat gluten). I was only able to find it here.

MY REVIEW: Just moved here from Atlanta, GA and was disappointed Whole Foods did not carry the fresh Vodka Pasta Sauce that I had grown to love. I asked about it and was directed to the "pasta and sauce in a jar" isle. Nothing compares to the fresh - in the refrigerated section - Vodka Pasta Sauce. Please order it and watch it fly off the shelves. I miss it terribly. It's better than any restaurant sauce I've ever had. Pricey - but worth it. I also could not find the fresh marinara sauce used to make margahrita pizzas.

MY REVIEW: Whole Foods Market on Kirby has one of the most consistent deli's out of all four stores. They offer a wide variety of foods including vegetarian, vegan, sushi, pizzas, sandwiches, bento boxes, spring rolls, a salad bar and much more. Their rotisserie chickens are second to none and they have great fresh soups. You are not limited to just getting food from their deli, their seafood department offers seafood salads and will steam fish/lobsters/shellfish for you on the spot, the specialty department has wonderful cheeses, deli meats, olives, beer and wine. Their bakery has a huge assortment of fresh breads and pastries. The best part of it all? It's all-natural, with no artificial colors or synthetic preservatives!

MY REVIEW: Of all the Whole Foods Markets across the country, the store on Bellaire is definately the best! The staff is terrific! They really go out of their way to help and answer the hardest food questions. The hot buffet at lunch and dinner is always good and fresh with lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. The coffee is extrodinary - they roast it right there in front of you! If you are picky about your food and you want to love the food you eat, this store is the best in town. Hand cut meats, fresh breads, the BEST fruits and vegetables with the small town service I love. The Kirby store has nothing on the service at the Bellaire location.
