MY REVIEW: I'd been hearing that they have boudin kolaches, so I trekked over to check 'em out & was very glad I did. They were spicy & delish. Sadly, their sausage kolaches were the same pigs in blankets that most kolache shops sell. However, why get sausage, when you can get boudin?

MY REVIEW: HORRIBLE SERVICE! Never going to this location again, which sucks because I live down the street. There is a better shipleys on south side of bunker hill. I asked if the nuts on the choc iced donuts were peanuts or walnuts, she told me she DIDNT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!! she didnt warm up my donut or kolache, which other locations typically do. Her friend came in and ate breakfast food from M*cDonalds, I wonder why her friend didnt want to eat at Shipleys???

MY REVIEW: Shipley's has the best donuts anywhere! I have eaten them for 41 years--I had my first one when I was only 2 years old. I always order the chocolate filled because they're so delish, but the other filled donuts like lemon, cherry, devil's food, chocolate cream filled, bavarian, blueberry and cream cheese are awesome too. If you go really early, you can get hot donuts, but even if they are cold they are still delicious. I buy or dozen or two, freeze them in individual baggies and microwave them for breakfast or a late-night snack. Yum!

MY REVIEW: Pros - I think when these donuts are fresh they are the best in Houston. They have a great variety of donuts. Their apple fritters are the biggest and best I have ever had. The prices are reasonable.
Cons – The girls at the counter do not speak English. I was ordering a certain donut and told her three times what I wanted, and pointed to it twice, and gave her a list with the donut on it, and she still put the wrong ones in the bag. I don’t think you should have to hassle with getting a donut early on a weekend morning. I also wish they would get kolaches. Not a roll with meat in the middle, (that is a pig in a blanket) but a REAL kolache where fillings are tucked into the middle of a sweet roll or filled with fruit fillings.
All in all, I will be back, but next time I will bring a laser pointer so I won’t have to stand there and try to translate what donut I want.

MY REVIEW: great place to pick up donuts on the go. it's really popular among high school students who come early for some school events and bring shipley's along with them, and the usual place to get donuts on the weekends for the people who live in the area. i've been going here ever since i was little, and their quality has been just as good as it was 10 years ago. the kolaches are THE best in town, a lot better than k*olache factory! i recommend the sausage and cheese, and the glazed donuts are always hot and fresh when you get them in the morning!

3410 Ella Blvd, Houston, Texas 77018
MY REVIEW: Okay...if you want hot, fresh do-nuts, come to the Shipley's at 3410 Ella. Yep! Hot fresh do-nuts day or night. No need to look for the "Hot" sign. Got a jones for do-nuts at 10 o'clock at night? Stop by this Shipley's and be prepared to wait. The line from the drive thru hits the street. Don't worry it is worth the wait! The are open almost 24 hours. I think they are closed for 3 hours from midnight to 3:00am. Other than that, stop by and enjoy a true institution. Every time my sister is in town, she stops and buys their cream filled do-nuts.

MY REVIEW: This is in regards to the store on Fuqua Street, zip code 77034. The Shipley signs first looked drab, but they are now a welcome sight. The people who run this store are particularly nice, and it is always busy during the day. The coffee's okay, and the plain cake donuts are really good - made with wheat flour and not too greasy or heavy. The snow white donuts are light and sweet.

MY REVIEW: I agree with chocoprincess. Shipley Donuts has the VERY BEST chocolate filled donuts in all the donut shops in Houston. No doubt.

MY REVIEW: People always bring these tired donuts in to work and I try them, because hey, they're donuts, but please...these are the worst donuts in town. Consistently.
