Me, not so much. I had a two meat dinner with brisket and sausage, with potato salad and beans on the side. Overall, I'd give it a B-. Plenty of beef, not too much smoked flavor and a kind of bland sauce. So-so beans and pretty good potato salad. Nice place, nice people, nothing special BBQ. The wife and I had a baked potatoe with chopped beef and it is excellent. The potatoe is hot and fresh. In times past I have enjoyed the ribs. I can order a pound each of brisket, ribs and links, with beans and fries, for a tad over $40 dollars, and by the time I've paid and gone over to load up on peppers, pickles and onions, the order is ready to go. Dinner and enough leftovers for days. Fast and good. Not the best, but not everthing has to be. I had my bike in the shop next door and decided to get lunch. The meat was as a previos person commented seemed to be just cooked with BBQ sauce to make it "BBQ". The beans I had tasted like the kind you get in the big bulk cans at the grocery store. They had no outstanding flavor or qualities that set them apart from a canned good. The cole slaw was from the bottom of the container, it was almost empty and way to much liquid was in it. If you are in a hurry and in the area its ok if you want real BBQ drive a bit and get it. It seems that there are alot of psuedo BBQ places and if youve never had real BBQ you are none the wiser. Oh, the meats are served slathered in BBQ sauce, all right, but the actual seasoning and preparation of the meat are the keys to quality barbecue. As far as I could tell, the ribs and chicken breast were just cooked and sauced without any special preparation involved. (Hint - I didn't smell any barbecue smell as I walked in from the parking lot.) Now, this stuff is perfect for a catering operation that specializes in feeding hungry hordes of families and kids at the company picnic, and I'd enjoy it in that setting too. Being recently married, I have gone here 3 times w/ my new bride, and she saws that the french fries are of a lesser quality [smaller, cheaper grade]than when we first went. After a couple of times at different times of the day, I realize that she is right. My wife is a salesperson for a food distribution company, so she has knowlegde of food quality, and I have no reason to doubt her word. I wish that they would go back to thier orignal grade of french fries. Demeris on Shepherd has had a facelift! All new interior, new booths, new tables, new chairs, new window coverings and updated bathrooms. The place is warm and inviting. If you haven't been to this Demeris in a while, check them out! The new look is very nice! For dinner I had the sliced beef sandwich, a side of cole slaw and a side of beans. The sandwich was really good, the meat was tender, sauce was good and the bun was nice and soft. Baked beans were slightly sweet with a thick bean sauce, tasty! The cole slaw is perfect, the perfect mix of cabbage, carrots and dressing. I really enjoy Demeris' cole slaw, I could've eaten two servings! I'll be going back soon, the atmosphere is very warm and comfy, just like the food!
