MY REVIEW: We usually go to the Woodlands location a couple of times a month but they have definitely been slipping the last few times. Tonight we waited thirty minutes for nachos and soft tacos for two people without any apologies for explanations. We won't be back for a while. Maybe they will get some new cooks and wait staff by then.

MY REVIEW: Chuy's is one of our favorite places, however this last visit was disappointing. The food, after we finally got it, was not as fresh as it usually is and was really really spicy. We like spicy, but the cook must have had some chili's he had to use up. We were wondering if Chuy's has a new cook and maybe this is why it was "off" that day?

MY REVIEW: I picked up a take-out order of 3 different dishes. The food was skimpy, with leathery empty enchiladas which were inedible. The charros were soupy and watery with few discernible beans. The poor quality overall and the meager poorly prepared portions lead me to conclude that quality has slipped badly, not to mention that the take-out order was a huge rip-off. Never again.

MY REVIEW: I haven't been to a Chuy's since Richmond Ave closed since they're all out of my zip code. Around 2pm one weekday a friend and I running errands were famished and he suggested Chuy's. We had a big dinner event later so shared a plate of special nachos. They were delicious, piled high with an inordinate amount of beans, cheese, and avocado. They sure didn't scrimp on amounts for 7 bucks.. That with the chips/salsa and one beer each affected my dinner appetite hours later. Waiter was nice and attentive even tho (seat yourself) we were the only ones in the room we chose. I thought I only missed the creamy green sauce here but it's worth leaving my zip for more than that.

MY REVIEW: We love going to Chuy's when they first open on Saturday mornings and sit on the porch - The food is always fresh and very flavorful - one of favorite things to do while we wait for our meal is to feed the birds chips while we wait - I know it sounds crazy but it's fun and apparently a lot of people do it because they are so tame and unafraid - The one time we sat inside the restaurant - Ed Brandon the weather guy was there having lunch. We have never been disappointed at the Westheimer location - The Woodlands location does not have the atmosphere as this location does - but to each his own.

MY REVIEW: I am originally from El Paso, where the enchilda sauces are made from real chilis and not powdered chili gravy with velveeta cheese drizzled on it. (I miss L*eos!) I moved to Austin where we discovered Chuys and found some relief from the vast emptiness of real Mexican food. Upon moving to Houston, I was estatic to find Chuys but soon learned that the service at the Westheimer location is always spotty and the wait is long but at least the food remains consistently tasty. I don't know why they closed the Richmond site, as that wait was always reasonable and the service far superior to the Westheimer location. Perhaps they will consider bringing one out on 290 soon?
I miss the green chili/cheese panchos and was dissapointed with the change to the chicken stuffing. I agree with the previous poster, bring back the old version.

I tried a bit of his chicken enchiladas as well, and those were just as tasty! I definitely want to come back again when we're on this side of town!!

MY REVIEW: Being from Austin, we love us some Chuys! However, in Houston, we live quite a distance from this location. We make a pilgramage every now and thing and always get the same thing. A burrito and a great menu item, the bandido. A flour tortilla rolled around cheese and green chilis and deep fried...THEY CHANGED THE MENU AFTER YEARS OF THIS and added CHICKEN..they were not just bad, they were nasty....please, please consider adding back the regular ones...serious mistake to mess around with a great thing.

MY REVIEW: We love Chuy's! This is the only Mexican restaurant in the Houston area that makes chile rellenos with the Hatch [long green] chiles, not poblanos. Being from El Paso, TX where only long greens are used to make rellenos, we were really happy to find Chuy's and appreciate getting a little taste of border-styled Mexican food. If you're from the El Paso/southern New Mexico region, you will especially love and appreciate it, too!

MY REVIEW: I grew up in the land of green chile, where the state question (yes, an official state question) is "Red or Green?". After moving from NM to TX, I stopped eating Mexican food (i.e. Tex-Mex) because it (that big chain P-cito)was horrid. I finally was introduced to Chuy's and it is now my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston. If you think the food is bland, you obviously didn't order any of the Hatch green chile sauces. The margaritas, which flow freely, always taste great and are served by quick and helpful servers. Good food and fun, low-stress atmosphere, no matter how crowded it is or how long the wait is, people are willing to wait...Chuy's must be doing SOMETHING right. For me, it's a little taste of home.

MY REVIEW: To start off on a good note, I don't really care for mexican food and I LUVED the beef enchiladas. My husband religiously adores the Chuychanga but wishes they weren't so shisty with the sour cream. The creamy jalopeno is very tasty also, I actually google the recipe and my husband still raves about it.
On to the service, on my husbands birthday we had a party of about 15. It took f-o-r-e-v-e-r. We had plans to go out after dinner and several of us had to leave our money with others because it took so long to get our checks and even longer to pay for them (literally an hour to pay for the meal). The wait there is always at least 15 minutes on a weekday and 45 minutes on a weekend. On our last visit we had 7 people , including my 7 week old son. It was pretty chilly outside, we know this because they sat us right next to the automatic door that leads to the outside dining area. We were all freezing and I had to thermalize my infant because the waitstaff consistantly went in and out of the door for no apparent reason. It is also very very loud. It was very hard to communicate with anyone especially the waiter who was a little too snotty when we told him that the check had not been seperated right. He quickly responded that we never told him to seperate the check between my mother and sibling-inlaws, just my husband, myself, our daughter and the rest of the group. If not for the good food we would have probably gone somewhere else.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I love this place. We visit Chuy's at least once in 10 days. Love the chips and sauces specially the cream & jalepenio. My friends from up state NY love this place as well. Every visit they come, they must visit Chuy's and not only that, just before they leave for NY, they pick-up food to go.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food for the buck!

MY REVIEW: When we moved here from Dallas, one of the places we were going to miss most was Chuy's, where everybody DID know our name...or at least our faces!!!
We were thrilled to find Chuy's in The Woodlands! It is the best Tex-Mex and where we bring everyone from out-of-town. Hubby swears by the enchiladas and the big-as-your-face burritos are awesome! (Hint: you can order a mini-burrito, perfect if you don't want to be too stuffed!).
For kids, how can you beat a cheese quesadilla and mac & cheese served together? A definite kid-pleaser.
Although the wait can be long at times, the food is always served super fast. The dips for the chips are great and try the "dot"...my personal favorite, a frozen margarita with a "dot" of strawberry margarita on top. Yum-O!!! The only thing they could do to improve is to offer draft beer instead of only bottles. :)
You'll love it!

MY REVIEW: Chuy's has always been a favorite - good food, drinks and eccentric, fun atmosphere, but I hate to say that lately I haven't been impressed. On my last visit (Friday evening), I was thrilled to find a parking spot. (How often does that happen?) But what I assumed was a cleverly-placed hostess outside, turned out to be an obnoxious surveyor. Holding a clipboard, we thought she would take our name, but continued to ask annoying questions about where we would like to see another Chuy's. She barely let us inside, continuing to ask questions after we were already through the door and clearly not interested in talking to her. You would think managers would have instructed her to ask patrons LEAVING instead of those eager to enter the waitlist fight. The bar area was so packed we had to yell to talk. Dinner was so-so. My grilled shrimp were tasty but the tortilla was really dried out. My friend's enchilada was okay - her tortilla was dry, too. Fresh tortillas are a must! But the tortilla soup was good. There are too many great Tex-Mex places in Houston for Chuy's reputation to carry them forever. They need to deliver.

MY REVIEW: My son lives for Wednesdays at Chuy's because of the Wednesday special. The creamy Jalapeno sauce is a must!!! Must get receipe!!! Food was great, service was great and even when we visited on a Saturday night at 8pm and we only waited about 15 minutes. I had the Chile Rellenos (cheese)- excellent! My son ordered the chicken enchiladas with avocado. He ate every bite (and there was a lot to eat!) Everything was sooo good especially with the margaritas and Coronas!

MY REVIEW: It always amazes me how the herd effect works. This place is awful. It tastes like a can of beans: no flavor and you look forward to your drink as the primary form of substinance. Service was ho-hum. If you are the C*hili's, B*ennigan's and On the B*order and insert-national-chain-name-here this restaurant will top your low standards for taste and quality. The food including the ranch jalepeno does not cater to the health-conscious...not that Tex-Mex does for the most part, but save your cash and go to Ta*co Cabana and you'll get the same stuff faster and cheaper. The ambiance is a rip off of Austin...who are we kidding? The only reason I go back is to prove myself wrong from the previous visit.
Strong points = I'm not there now
Weak points = you name it. but the service could be worse.

MY REVIEW: I love Chuy's and the creamy jalepeno is my fav. I just found you could order a mini steak burrito which is just a much as one person can eat - and get the creamy j on it... yum!! The only thing that really stinks is the parking - I would pay for valet if they had it. I hate circling around trying to find a place - and my friends and I usually car pool up since the parking is so bad.

MY REVIEW: We love Chuy's!!!! Recently dined there on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday, everything was great. We had to wait almost 2 hours for a table, but this was to be expected for a party of 15-20 on a weekend. Once we were seated, our server, Justin, took great care of us. He even took our entire table's order by memory. Very impressive. Drinks and creamy J. were brought quickly, "big as yo face" burrito was hot and delicious, and our large check was split up efficiently. Thanks Justin!

MY REVIEW: Hmmm, if words like AWESOME are a regular part of your vocabulary, then you might like this food. they defintiely cater to a younger crowd that seems to place just the mere presence of alcohol on the same level as good tasting food.
The place is very loud, the lines are long, and when you do get a table, the service is so so. But I do not hold that against the staff; they are dealing with a fairly roudy crowd more interested in drinking than eating.
And the alcohol does help. It really does. At first I found the food bland, and just a little cold, but the alcohol soon made up for the well, just barely adequate food. Perhaps if I yelled AWESOME and COOL with a blank, vapid expression on my face, as every other word like the tables around us, maybe that is the trick.
Before you go, decide what your goal is: getting hammred, or having a good meal. If getting hammered and taking in some adequate tex mex, then this is your place.

MY REVIEW: Service has definitely gone down hill. The waiter did not ask us (party of 5) how everything was, brought us the wrong sauce (we of course requested creamy jalepeno) & took 10 minutes after he brought us our bill to collect the money. Other than that, the food was great, as usual.

MY REVIEW: Chuy's is the best Tex-Mex in Houston! Every week a group of my friends place an order and take it home to much on. We always have to get a big bucket of Creamy Jalapeno, the greatest thing on the menu. My favorite is the Big as Yo Face Burrito w/creamy jalapeno. The Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom special on Fridays is also great. The atmosphere is fun and noisy. The Margaritas are great. The only draw-back is the long wait time. If you have a large group and show up on the weekend expect to wait an hour for a table.

MY REVIEW: This is by far one of the best places to eat Mexican/Tex Mex in houston... When you go, you might have a little bit of a wait... but it is worth it. The creamy jalapeno sauce is always excellent, try the hatch if you like green chili, and the ranchero sauce is excellent... The last time we visited I ordered the Chuychanga, it was excellent... and you can order it with any of there great sauces... my friends ordered their usual chicken fajitas... always great... the margaritas are some of the best i have ever had... remember to ask for a side of your favorite sauce to go home with your leftovers...
The atmosphere is great here, and if you like it you will definately have to visit the many chuys in Austin where it was founded....
Saturday nights you might have to wait about 45 min max...
