MY REVIEW: A truly hidden gem....on the West side of Houston
My husband and I have been going there for years.. What can I say.. We love the place, the food, and the service. They treat you like family. Much better than the high end Italian places around the area. Some incredible sauces!
If you are looking for something quiet with some incredible dishes, you found the spot! We love every dish, so you can't go wrong...

MY REVIEW: The Seafood Bisque was absolutely amazing. I could have ended the meal there and called it one of my all-time favorite meals. Spaghetti and meatballs main course was perfectly cooked, and the meatballs had so much flavor to them. The largest helping of cheesecake for dessert was a perfect finish. The crust of the cheesecake was your normal graham cracker crust....but pecan pieces were sprinkled into it. I was simply attempting to carb-load for a 10K tomorrow and ended up finding....simply put....the finest Italian food I have ever had.

MY REVIEW: My favorite place for Sunday brunch. The food and atmosphere are both outstanding. I tried the Egg Sandwich and love the pesto on the bread (I bought a container of pesto to go). $1.00 mimosas are a bargain.

MY REVIEW: Again tonight, I had my favorite meal in the world -- Red Snapper Ponchatrain at Crappito's. I will only eat it there now, because nowhere else compares. It isn't on the menu, but you can order it and they will gladly make it for you.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant and I think it is the best place in the world. It is hard to find a great restaurant where you can get great food in warm surroundings and be able to carry on a conversation without having to speak loudly in order to be heard; but this is the atmosphere at this wonderful restaurant. Everything they serve is great. It gets the highest rating I can give it.

MY REVIEW: We had gotten a Groupon for this restaurant a few months back and finally went on a Friday night. WOW! I'm so sorry we didn't go sooner! Being an Italian food lover, as well as cook, my husband and I were most impressed with the food. The tagliatele was absolutely phenomenal, the caesar salad super fresh and perfectly seasoned, the wine very good, and the wait staff friendly and considerate. The lasagna was the biggest portion we'd ever seen, and very classic. We can hardly wait to go back! Please keep up this excellent quality of food and service!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I had our 1st visit last night and we loved the whole package: the warm homey ambiance, the staff was welcoming and attentive; the wine selections were broad; the night's specialty was osso bucco and it was superb. We had a very pleasant evening and will definitely go back! I made the reservation online and that was also a nice feature.

MY REVIEW: First time visit. I think we love the atmosphere; I say think because we didn't have reservations and had to sit in the bar area; while not bad its not what we had in mind. Service was excellent though.
Ordered the Mixed Greens Salad (Insalate di Famigla) which was good. The complimentary bread and dipping sauce was very good. We ordered two entrees; the Pasta Diablo was an excellent (if a bit unusual for Italian) choice and also the Grilled Pork Rib Chop which was also excellent.
Bottom Line: Get reservations if you want to experience the fine atmosphere and ambiance, otherwise you'll sit in the bar area. While not expensive for the food quality, it's too high for our table location. We'll more than likely return for special occasion dining with reservations.

MY REVIEW: This was my first time there and I left very pleased! Enjoyed the good hospitality from everyone who works there and the food was great! The private Wine Room was perfect for my gathering because it was big enough for my large group of friends. Do not forget to try their desserts also when you go there. They are ALL delicious with the exception of the New York Style Cheesecake... I had the opportunity to try them all. I definitely plan to go back again and this time perhaps enjoy a lunch on outside patio which might be pleasing in the upcoming cool season here in Houston.

MY REVIEW: We love this place. Our server (Paige) was wonderful, and her recommendations were on point! This was our first time and she made us feel special. We had heard that the food and service were wonderful and the stories were definetly true! We will be back very soon.

OWNER RESPONSE: This is a reply for Crapitto's Cucina Italiana concerning our Air Conditioning Problem. Yes, we did have a problem and we spent weeks trying to get it corrected. It was for only part of the restaurant but no one could find the problem. FINALLY a technician found that both the heat and the air conditioner were running at the same time. It was a computer glitch and no one could pick it up. It is fixed now and I want to apologize to all our customers who were uncomfortable because of the heat. I hope they will return and give us another try.

MY REVIEW: Air conditioning either doesn't work or Crapitto's owners have it set too high to save on energy costs. Each time we have eaten at this establishment, it has been oppressively warm. Our requests to the staff to cool down the dining area have always fallen on deaf ears. With Houston's unpleasant 10+ months of heat and humidity, we'll dine elsewhere in the future.
