MY REVIEW: My family and I have always enjoyed Landry's. Love the boardwalk location with it's waterfront dining and generally great food. Issue - second year in a row, lunch during spring break was told we could not order off the lunch menu. Pathetic, come on Tilman give families a break. My wife and I had four kids with us. We had already paid for all day rides passes for the kids, along with other various treats and park expenses. Not to mention parking.
We stayed and everyone enjoy their food and the service was fine. I just can't help feeling ripped off by forcing you to order off the higher cost dinner menu. NICE customer appreciation. Thanks for the gouging

MY REVIEW: I have never been a big fan of Landry's at other locations, but must admit the one at The Woodlands is good enough that I ate there Friday and Saturday nights.
We stayed 3 nights in the Waterway Square area, which is where Landry's is located. Very close by is the popular Market Street area which has at least 2 good seafood restaurants. Landry's is every bit as good or better than the competition nearby and is priced $4-$5 less per entree (however, admittedly, the river section is generally a pricey place to eat). This is a popular tourist area that promotes parking your car and either walking or riding the trolley to all restaurants and shops. It's a fun concept and a beautiful area, but it comes with a price. That's why Landry's, though not cheap, is a welcoming place to save a few bucks.
Fried shrimp & oysters were ok, but standouts were: Big Easy Trilogy featuring excellent, spicy crawfish etoufee; baked stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon; and iceberg wedge topped with crab & shrimp.
Great service. Nice view of the river. Outdoor seating with live music on the weekends. A white tablecloth kind of place with a NOLA feel. We live very close to Kemah Boardwalk, but I'm not sure how often I'll get to Landry's there because there are so many places to get good seafood at lower prices. So it's interesting that the reverse seems to be true in The Woodlands where Landry's is relatively a better value.

MY REVIEW: While both my Wife and myself really enjoy the food, I will not be back, I will not pay to park so thati can pay for their somewhat expensive food. Sorry Tillman, we were probably what most people would call very good and loyal customers, but not any more. I have been to many upscale restaurants and have never payed for parking, or the parking was validated and paid for.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I visited this restaurant for a Valentine's Day dinner. Naturally the place was busy, but the staff was prepared. We had a 30-minute wait (which we were told about when we checked in), and all of the available seating in the lobby was already taken. A hostess kindly brought me an unused chair from one of the tables to sit in while we waited. The view from our window-side table was phenomenal, the food was outstanding, and Auria was a wonderful, attentive waitress. The shrimp taquito appetizer, Ultimate Seafood platter and Tilapia Ponchartrain were fabulous, but the best part was the Romano shrimp (part of the Ultimate Seafood platter, but also available as a separate entree). I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

MY REVIEW: Extremely disappointed with the food!!!! Drove in from Houston for a nice seafood dinner but for the quality of the food it was a total waste of time and money. In the past Landry's was a wonderful choice for delicious seafood; NOT ANY MORE. The calamari was dry and and did not taste fresh. The lobster bisque tasted like milk and tomato sauce with tiny pieces of lobster at the bottom of the bowl. The crawfish ettoufee lacked in favor. The fried shrimp were fried too hard and dry. Our party of four were all disappointed in the food. The only thing that was good was the salad. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GREAT FOOD????????

MY REVIEW: The first food stop on our girls' weekend in Kemah was Landry's on the boardwalk, usually a reliably good place to eat. No problems with the food. The mahi mahi special was scrumptious and the willingness of the staff to allow us to split it made it even more attractive. Two complaints: 1. apparently they no longer make the caprese salad (one of my faves!)and 2. the children howling at the top of their lungs at the table next to us. The adults at said table did nothing to stop the racket and neither did the staff. Children behaving abominably in restaurants is a sore spot with me.

MY REVIEW: The fish & chips are overpriced. Crappy choice of fries to serve with mediocre fish!! On a good note... The lunch buffet is good.

MY REVIEW: strong points: very nice view, very nice waitress.
weak points: The food was horrible. I had the seafood platter blackend it was salty to the point that it was not edible, half the food was barely warm/room temp and the other half was stone cold (i sent it back and it came out pipping hot, so that tells me they microwaved my food)30 dollars for a TV dinner, the lemonade tasted like they ran out and just add water to the bottom of the pitcher swished it around and poured it in my glass. My wife had a paste dish it also was room temp at best and just the opposite of mine bland and tastless. She even commented how bad the water taste and im not attempting to be funny at all. I spoke with others in my party that night and their food was also bad.
Extremely Overpriced for the food quality and portion size. I would not dare try a dessert after how horrible my entree was. Buffet quality food at premium restaurant prices.
There was a resounding echo in my party that we would never go to this food establishment again.

MY REVIEW: Two-person party, first time in Houston. We were looking for a late night meal, nothing fancy, and while cruising around Westheimer Rd. we spotted Landry's. Our hunch was right. The place looked amazing and the general atmosphere had a nice feel to it. There were both couples and families and the staff was REALLY friendly and helpful. While waiting for our server (which only took like 5 mins), the manager came by and recommended a couple of specials and they were FANTASTIC! Highly recommended and will definitely return next time.

MY REVIEW: I went to Landry's to enjoy this buffet that I had been hearing so much about. I sat at the bar where the bartender Lindsey greeted me with a smile. I arrived just before the buffet ended at 2 but the staff informed that anything I needed would be prepared fresh immediately. The food was great as was the service. The buffet included a great variety of items; crab and spinach dip, cold peal and eat shrimp, a wonderful salad bar, and at least ten other well prepared items. Come to find out they also have a happy hour from 11-7 seven days a week. I could go on and on but the bottom line is, the price, food, and service were right and I will definitely be back!

MY REVIEW:
I just took a friend to Landry's to introduce him to the buffet. It was the worst restaurant experience I have had in years! I have gone there several times in the past, but it has been a year or two.
The food that was there today was terribly inconsistent. I had some fried fish that was tough as shoe leather! The other fish trays were empty, and we waited and waited, and they never brought out fresh prepared fish. Everyone kept asking where the fish was, and the wait staff kept saying that they would bring it out "shortly". We had to get our fill of food by eating vegetables and whatever else we could find.
It was an awful experience! I was curious when driving into the parking area at 12:15 due to the lack of cars. That was the first clue that the place had gone to hell. When I west there before, the place was always packed, and the staff always kept coming out with fresh food. We were there for a good 45 minutes today - waiting for food that never came.
I will not be going there again. The management has taken the restaurant down the tubes!!!!

MY REVIEW: Listen UP! Do not waste your money here! Food is A W F U L! I had a simple Seafood and Pasta ($19) and the noodles were way overcooked. The shrimp tasted like it had freezer burn. My wife, who likes to eat healthy, ordered the Hibachi Salmon that came with veggies ($20). You would think the veggies would also come off the grill as well but nooooo. They had some kind of nasty breading coat that was deep fried and super greasy. Then they piled these greasy blobs over the salmon and squirted processed cheese in a zig-zag pattern over the top of it. Real gourmet stuff there! She complained immediately and the waiter was quick to offer steamed veggies at no charge. Once she removed the deep fried veggies blobs off the salmon, the salmon was appealing and she said it tasted great so all was not lost. We will never come back here again for sure. I would recommend you drive down a bit further east on the 10 feeder just beyond Mason road to B*abins if you want better seafood. I believe this is another Landry joint but there is the world of difference. Much better atmosphere as well.

MY REVIEW: I'm a longtime Landry's customer, this is my 2nd or 3rd visit to the Kemah location. The food was pretty good, it is definitely expensive but I didn't see any of the problems some have stated about food quality. I'd say it is still a good choice for bringing visitors from out of town, if they want to see the Boardwalk. But service was spotty.
We had a large party for lunch on a Saturday, it was early, not that crowded, but even with many open tables outside they wouldn't seat us because there wasn't a server for those tables. They did say we could eat in the bar, which also is open to the water. It was noon but they gave us dinner menus. While the wait for our food was not too bad, we never got any bread or salad. The waiter did fill our drinks. Everyone seemed reasonably happy with their meal, but I wonder if Landry's just can't find enough servers who'll work down in Kemah. I'm used to Landry's having great service!
