MY REVIEW: Do not waste your money on this place. We went last weekend for our anniversary thinking we were going to splurge and have a really nice steak dinner. My filet and my husbands prime rib had no seasoning to them although they were cooked temperature wise to our satisfaction. Our lobster tails came mushy and overcooked with no taste whatsover. We sent them back and it took them 1/2 hr to bring us new lobster tails even though the restaurant hardly had anyone in the dining room on a Saturday night. The tails were as bad as the first ones. The waiter actually told us they are frozen. Not sure how they can charge market price for a frozen item. Even the crab/corn chowder on the salad bar had no seasoning and tasted like it was out of a can. Will never go back there again.

MY REVIEW: Many years ago, this place was incredible. Today, not so much. I paid 22 dollars for a plate of grilled aka tasteless shrimp, which came with an unimpressive salad bar, and gloppy chowder. Nursing home food is how I would describe this, and over-priced at that. My sister had some pasta pesto dish, disasterous tasting, also. I was ok with it being bad, but what really took the cake was when the waitress asked if everything was ok, and I mentioned that I did not like the shrimp, her response was "Well Shrimp is Shrimp, everywhere you go". (uh not to a serious foodie like me, honey) She also said that maybe I was just not in the mood for shrimp. I AM ALWAYS IN THE MOOD FOR SHRIMP. If this is what management tells their staff to say to people when they do not like the food, then I guess when the tired, old die hards are done, this place will be, too. BTW, I usually just leave good reviews on here because I like to give places I like business. I am being very fair about this, in my opinion.

MY REVIEW: First, this place needs a makeover. It's dark, dusty, old upholstery, etc. The food is mediocre. Tough "prime" rib, if you can believe that. They don't have butter for the baked potatoes, only margarine. Salad bar was tired. The best thing about our dinner was our longlasting friendship and the wine came in second. We won't be visiting the restaurant unless forced to under point of a gun.

MY REVIEW: Nice atmosphere and excellent salad bar. Most of the choices on the salad bar were fresh and appealing to the eye. The mushrooms were a little dark and the fruit salad had a little age on it as well. The clam chowder was a little too runny and lacked the correct consistency. The service was fair but the entrees left a little to be desired. The steaks start at $20.00 and the meat is the same as a chain such as A*pplebee's or C*hili's. I may or may not go back but I will stay away from the meat.

MY REVIEW: This is a really nice place that has great service. The food is very good and the salad bar is huge. Some say it is expensive but look what you get......you make your own salad, get your own soup, and then you have your entree that is huge portions. It is enough for 2 meals for me. When you want quality and pay 20-25 for an entree, it is so worth it !!! This is good food !!!! Thanks Bonnies !! I WILL be back MANY times !!

MY REVIEW: My family and I visited Bonnie's at my suggestion. We had a party of 13 and arrived at approx. 1:45pm. We didnt have to wait long for a table. However, a few of our seats and part of the table were dirty and needed to be cleaned again. I was told that the prices were moderate - they were not moderate...Steak plates started at $22.00. The waiter and waitress that served us were sporatic in their service. We waited awhile for drink refills and when asked for a fresh Dr. Pepper, the waitress rolled her eyes with a audiable sigh and walked off. She returned approx. 10-15 min. later with the fresh Dr. Pepper. Our waiter was polite. After ordering our entrees, we visited the salad bar. Several of the plates were dirty. The soup was very good and the block of cheese was a big hit with our younger family members. The members that ordered the "Bayou Platter" (asst. fried seafood) complained that almost all the seafood was overcooked - especially the catfish. My grandmother's was so overdone, she cut it up - so she sent it back. Their second attempt on her order was not much better than the first. Several other members ordered the lemon peppered catfish and it was cooked to perfection. Overall, our visit was Hit & Miss. Based off of the pricing, we did expect a higher standard of cleanliness and attention. I doubt that my family will opt for Bonnie's again, However, I may give them another try. Hopefully they will fair better on my next visit, or it will be my last visit.

MY REVIEW: The Salad Bar is $8.95, not $15.95. When you add the soup, it is only a dollar more. The Salad Bar is phenomenal and a great deal. While you are only supposed to go for one plate of salad, you can try both soups and go back for the fruit and different types of dishes that are offered(such as pasta salad, celery and cheese salad, bean salad etc). The Crawfish Etouffee and the Gumbo are not part of the Soup and Salad and does not automatically come with a trip to the Salad Bar. Just wanted to clarify. I used to work there and I would recommend eating there anytime. The Filet Mignon is awesome.

MY REVIEW: I arranged for a group of 7 people, 4 from Austin, 3 from Houston to have dinner at Bonnies after a musical performance at U of H. Reservation was fine, nice table for us all, however ordering was a little shaky......several of the group (4) only wanted soup with a salad bar trip.

The menu CLEARLY stated at the bottom of the first page "all soup includes one trip to the garden bar". However, there was some discussion with the waiter about whether the "Crawfish Etoufee" listed as a soup was a soup or traditional Etoufee, he came back after I asked to confirm it was soup. I ordered it along with others who either got that soup or the gumbo, but when we said something about going to the salad bar, he said the soup did not come with the salad bar even after we pointed out what the menu said.

Now, here we should have confirmed how much it would be or asked for the manager, but we just said we wanted the salad bar and went on to get our food. When the bill came...... we were all charged $15.95 for SALAD plus the $7.95 for soup. We could NOT BELIEVE IT. All of this group are professional engineers, not like we couldn't afford to pay the bill, but come on Bonnies, $23.90 for a bowl of soup and ONE salad plate from the "garden bar".......then,

When one of the guys tried to talk to the manager about it, he totally blew him off saying the reason we were charged was because the etoufee didn't come with the salad.......it was CRAZY.

No one in charged seemed to understand the menu and the menu specifically said soup comes with salad bar, the management thought the etoufee was traditional etoufee when the waiter had confirmed it was soup and by the way I ate it and IT WAS SOUP!!

We won't be back, eventhough the food was very good, my advice, opt for P*appa's Seafood right next door to Bonnies!!

MY REVIEW: It started out shaky with the hostess nowhere to be found upon arriving. Then she directed us to the wrong table (we were meeting business associates) but finally we were seated. The stuffed mushrooms were fantastic, my filet was cooked to perfection (it actually melted in my mouth) the vegetables were cooked just right. The meal was excellent and to top if off the cappucino and creme brulee cheesecake were great. Overall, a great night out to talk business and socialize. Prices were high but I wasn't paying so I enjoyed the meal that much better. Jeremiah, our server, was very attentive and polite.

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit to Bonnie's and I must say the service, ambiance, band, and the overall dining experience was outstanding. My companion and I sat in a booth and to adjust the lighting made our expereince more intimate and the first date a great one. I will visit Bonnie's again.
