MY REVIEW: When I heard Ryan's was part of the same chain as H*metown Buffet, I decided to give it a try. The selection is a bit less than I am used to a HB, but the quality is the same. There are fish, chicken and beef items. Lots of quality vegetable selections(Fried okra was crispy, steamed broccoli was not overcooked, corn was from a can. The salad bar was tiny compared the HB, but the quality of the food is excellent. The soups were adequate and there were 3 to choose from. I am glad I have found an American restaurant on the west side of Houston that I can more than tolerate eating at. I have not tried the dinner menu so I would not know what the extra cost will get you.
Price is also another consideration. Weekday lunch was just cheap. It was just over $5 per person. Soda was $2 extra. That was the difference at Ryan's to its sister restaurant out west. Drinks prices are seperate and the server gets you your drink like G*olden Corral or L*uby's. This means you end up having to pay tip. At weekday lunch, you can get out paying around $6. Dinner can reach over $13 with drink.
The food at Ryan's is excellent for a buffet. It is much better than G*olden Corral or A*merica's Buffet. Ryan's is not at good as L*uby's, but it is not as good as expensive either and you can have your fill and not worry about the costs.

MY REVIEW: We had the breakfast buffet for the first time. We found it to be very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the bacon, freshly scrambled eggs with cream gravy and the breakfast tacos were to die for. The staff was friendly and kept everything clean. I plan on taking our families out to eat there whenever we go to visit. We have always enjoyed our experiences at Ryan's various locations (mainly Baton Rouge, La., Beaumont, TX. and Houston, TX.)since the late 1980's and have NEVER had a bad experience. Kudos to the staff at Ryan's.

MY REVIEW: Amazing varirty of everything. The food and service was excelent. I have an eating disorder that prevents me from eating very much or often but when at Ryan's i find myself just gorging myself. Maybe I can gain some weight. I just found this place recently and will make the trip at least once a week even though I have to travel 20 miles to get to it. I only wish they would build one here in The Woodlands, Texas

MY REVIEW: I used to go to Ryan's often until my location closed. I found this one on Highway 6 in February, and found the food to be hot, wide variety, and actually better than I remembered from years past. Service was excellent, and I enjoyed the visit. Looked like there were more food choices so it was hard to pick and choose.

MY REVIEW: Great place for value, nutrition and just plain good tasting food - like home cooked. Can't beat the value for the money, and if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Great selection of food, many choices, and if there may be a few items that are not the greatest we've ever had, there are many, many more that more than make up for it. We make this at least a weekly outing, and will keep on going there. Too bad, the one in Webster and Pasadena closed down - hope they get some more opening up close by soon!

MY REVIEW: Great salad bar. Lots of choices. Very Good service. Lots of friendly people.
They need to offer more beef choices (Pot roast, beef tips, etc.) at lunch. There is always plenty of pork, chicken, and fish, but a lot of people prefer beef.
More whole wheat breads would be nice, also, more healthy. Bread sticks every once in a while would also be a great idea.

MY REVIEW: the place is awesome! The food is always really good with a great variety. The place could really use more help though as the service was slow each time I was there. I absolutely LOVE their sweet dinner rolls! Thank you for putting one in our area. They need one in Livingston so when we visit we will have a great family restaurant to go to.

MY REVIEW: Thanksgiving dinner today was very good. Place was crowded, and as a result, service was less than on prior visits. And there was no pumkin pie, only sweer potatoe pie!

MY REVIEW: My 2-1/2 year old daughter have been here twice in the past 2 weeks. There is a great selection & I think that the price is good for the value. Kids under 3 are free. The staff is very friendly. I do think that the bathrooms could have been cleaner & the food warmer, though. We've gone during the week, so it was not at all crowded. Am anxious to try out the breakfast buffet.

MY REVIEW: I've been to the Clear Lake location 3 times and the Pasadena location once.
Ryan's is a good value for the money. It's certainly nothing fancy: it's usually crowded and brightly lit with tables close together.
But the buffet selection is wonderful! There's a wide variety of food and the meats are usually quite tasty. Veggies taste like they're canned or frozen rather than fresh, but I guess they do that to save money. The dessert bar is huge, and they even have some sugar-free selections.
Service has been good every time I've gone there.
Don't go here if you don't like little kids, because they're running around all over the place.
They also have a private room for private parties.

MY REVIEW: I was surprised on how good the buffet food tasted. The quality of the food was very good, especially the fried chicken. I will definetly eat at this location again when I am in the Conroe area.

MY REVIEW: We have eaten in several Ryan's and were excited that one was close to where we are staying now. We are fulltime RVers and travel extensively across the US and have eaten at many establishments. We were very disappointed in our visit to this location. The service was not very good, the restroom was nasty, which sometimes can give you an indication about general cleanliness, and overall a lousy experience. We will not visit this location again.

MY REVIEW: Since the Ryans in Lake Jackson reopened it has not been as good as before.
They open late the soup, veg. and meats are cold to luke warm. The service is still very good but everything else has gone down hill. After many letters to the home office it seems as though nothing will be done. WE have cut our 7 x a week visit to about 2x a week. We are hoping we will see some improvement soon but if we don't we will be finding another place to eat.

MY REVIEW: during the christmas season and the only time i went there...the service was good and the staff was friendly on hwy.6. Food was was not bad. The only small complaint I had is they had steak night and they would give you a very tiny portion and how there not embarrased to put it on your plate is unbelievable to me. Either then that.. I guess i would return
