Feng Ling Restaurant
11010 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas 77042
MY REVIEW: Observations from my wife and I from a lunch at Feng Ling on Feb. 11. Very generous servings. Egg Roll: Small but good. Hot/Sour soup: Good flavor, but not hot from the stove or pepper. Hot Pulled Pork: Very good flavor, but again not hot. Sesame Chicken: Nicely fried, hot, but smothered with an excessively sweet sauce that limited consumption. Fried pork dumplings: Tough, chewy, not hot and served without dipping sauce. Accompanying shredded "something" was inedible. Fried Rice: Well, it was fried rice. Nothing special. Chinese hot pepper paste: Good. Service: Not attentive. After prompt serving of drinks, waited some time and watched other guests arrive, wait for their table to be re-set, get seated and waited on before we were. After another wait, had to flag a waitress to place our order. After food arrived, requested chop sticks, Chinese hot paste. Got the latter, but not the former. Finally had to flag a waitress for check. Obviously, we will not be returning to this place.

MY REVIEW: Feng Ling's is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the whole world - we've been to China, Hong Kong and Singapore! I come to dine all the time for celebrations, business meetings, group functions and for "comfort food"! My Mom and I discovered Feng Ling's when testing out dumplings to prepare for entertaining a Chinese delegation for my husband 25 years ago. My family and friends have been coming back ever since! The dumplings are still the best ever along with every other dish. Everything is fresh and consistently delicious, the ambiance is quiet and amenable to romance, business or pure comfort and enjoyment. The service is outstanding, and the Mom and Pop owners are terrific and caring!

MY REVIEW: Great place I've been visiting for the last 15 years and the food is consistently awesome. I've never had better sesame chicken and their lunch specials are a great deal! They're always fast and efficient, but definitely not the place for a leisurely romantic dinner as they serve you so quick.

MY REVIEW: Been coming here since the 80s. The Food is consistently excellent, but the ambiance and service is typical Chinese restaurant. Not very warm and friendly, but regardless, most of their clientele don't care. As long as you go in there not expecting to have great service, but authentic food at an excellent price, I'd give this place a try!

MY REVIEW: This recently became my "go-to" place for excellent Chinese food. On my first visit I tried the Mongolian beef which was very good. The meat was tender and lacked any of the grizzle you often find elsewhere. The last two times, I've ordered the Feng Ling Chicken. I had initially decided to go with the General Tso's Chicken, but they stopped me to make sure that I understood how it was prepared. Apparently their version of General Tso's has no batter and is not deep fried. Preferring mine done the traditional American way (FRIED!!) :) , they suggested their Feng Ling Chicken instead. It's spicy, slightly orangy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I could detect no dark meat whatsoever. This dish was probably the best American fried Chinese I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. The flavor was incredible. I asked the lady how long they had been open and she stated, "27 years." No mystery why. Just wish I had heard of them sooner. Apparently many others have, as you can see their numerous awards from local media hanging on their walls.

MY REVIEW: the service isn't much to write home about, but the food is DELICIOUS! I love the won-ton soup and the cashew chicken. Much better than P*F Changs. and cheaper too. :) I don't like that delivery is a minimum of $15 when most of the other places in the area are only $10. But the food is so good and made fresh, i almost don't mind going to pick it up.

MY REVIEW: I've been going here for about 8 years now. My favorite Chinese food place. The wonton soup is good, the dumplings good too. The waitress remembers most of my orders and generally just asks me if I want the same as last time.
The restroom could use some serious remodeling and the place is generally in need of an update. The quality of the food and the decent service though are why I keep going back. And it is better than the other Feng Lings in town although the manager there tells me that they are all owned by the same people.
You have to ask for your chopsticks as with most other asian places serving primarly an American clientele but it is worth the trip out there. Sort of hard to see from Westheimer though as it is tucked behind some other buildings on the corner of Westheimer & Wilcrest. Just find the B*eck's prime and go behind the building in the parking lot.

MY REVIEW: I have never in my life had such a rude wait staff as I had at Feng Ling. I will never visit again. The third time is definitely not the charm. The customer is not priority and I actually thought the waitress was going to lose it because I asked for something. It was as if the customers were bothering them. They can use a class in customer service. Actually, I think they are beyond help!!
