MY REVIEW: I'll start by saying that our waitress and the manager on 5/12 were absolutely great and responded quickly to our dissatisfaction with the food (which we were very subtle about - they were really paying attention). Overall it was not a very good meal but the worst my husband's soggy fried oysters and cold french fries (which they cheerfully took off the bill). The Creole margarita was cloyingly sweet and overpriced. We're going to chalk this up to a busy Saturday night with several big parties and try them again, as they can be very good.

MY REVIEW: Have to sing the praises of this location. Last minute business gathering of a large group and needed to find a place to dine in the area. The management and staff were great seating close to twenty people with a few hours notice and the attention we received was outstanding. Drink orders were instant, server offered suggestions for those that had never dined at a Pappadeaux and pointed out new items on the menu and suggested appetizers that everyone might enjoy. Considering the number of people and the vast difference in food ordered everything arrived at the same time and the bread never ended. Very attentive staff and the kitchen must be very good to manage not only an almost full house but a large group as well.

MY REVIEW: Most Pappa's restaurants are known for their great food and outstanding service. This restaurant has neither. For some reason the staff at this restaurant, especially the clowns behind the bar, have no clue how to maintain a high level of service for all their clientelle. My personal experience is that I sat down at the bar, ordered my lunch and proceeded to watch several other people come and eat and leave until I could get some attention to my meal. As it turned out they never even turned in my order and I never did get any lunch. Do not take time our of your valuable day to go to this restaurant. You will be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: Went to pappadeaux for lunch with two co-workers, I order the usual Wedge Salad and an appetizer, the appetizer came out in about 20 min even thought I ask that it come out with my two co-workers meals. I figure cool I would start eating it and the others meals would follow shortly.
After 35 min I ask the waiter where is the salad and where are my co-worker meals that they ordered. He left the table and returns about 10 mins later with their meals, no salad. About 50 min into the meal he came back with the salad I told him it was too later, his reply was I thought you want it last. (HELLO).
The manager came to the table to ask what was the problem and I told her that the meals and salad took too long, and she said that they had some kind of problem in the kitchen, and she would take the salad off the bill, I reposed to her I am sure you will take it off the bill because I did not eat it. The real problem with pappadeaux is they have an habbit of putting customers who arrive early in the training section, but the staff is unprepared and not trained enoght to work in an establishment that charge those kind of prices.
I usually go to one of their restaurant once a week but I’m going to have to re-evaluate my choices.

MY REVIEW: Don't usually post reviews but after last night's dining experience I felt obligated to do so. My last two visits to this location (both within the last 3 weeks) were disappointing, to say the least. Three weeks ago the food was only mediocre but at least I could count on enthusiastic service to counter the poor food. Not last night, not only was the food bad, the service was even worse. It took 40 minutes to get my 6 raw oysters, a time frame seemingly long but acceptable given the crowds...just wish our waitress would have checked in to tell me that they had not forgotten me. The oysters were deposited (should say practically dropped)on my table without an inquiry as to whether I wanted crackers to go with them, had to chase down my waitress to get those. My entree took another 35 minutes (by now almost 1.5 hours since first placing the order)and it arrived with some items overcooked and others on the plate undercooked. Oh, well...guess I won't be returning. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

MY REVIEW: Great place. The crowds indicate that people like the food. We come for one thing- oysters on the half shell. They are big, meaty, fresh, and at $3.95 per dozen, a bargain. The only weird thing is how they are served. For some strange reason, they think that sticking them in a ton of ice makes a good presentation. Wrong. We keep requesting that they just lay them flat on a little bed of ice, so the juice doesn't run out into the ice and you can slurp the liqueur while ingesting your oyster. They have good oysters at good prices but don't have a NOLA sensibility about how to serve them. Still, hard to argue with the price and downing them with a big cold Shiner Bock.

MY REVIEW: Here's a short review. Oysters at $3.95 per dozen! Awesome! We did have to tell them not to stick them into the ice at the Richmond location so the juices run out. Great deal, even if the presentation on that huge pile of ice is a little silly.

MY REVIEW: Used to go to this location for 20+ years when under a different name. After changing management, we decided to give it a while to work out their inconsistencies. Well, I guess I need to wait a while longer. We recieved our beverages in short order. After 30-40 minutes, I asked where our waitress went. She showed up immediately with our entree. Great!......no water,no bread, no salad. Walked out. After 20+years of enjoying this location, I will be really hard pressed to ever enter their door again.

MY REVIEW: Pappadeaux has been my favorite restaurant for many years, no matter what location we went to, the food was excellent. My favorite dish is the Seafood Grill, omg.. you get two long skewers with shirmp, scallops, salmon, green, yellow and orange sweet peppers, onions and mushrooms served over a beautiful seasoned rice! It doesn't get any better!! They used to have a seafood linguine that was out of this world too.. The blackend Redfish,, to die for!!! Never had a bad meal at any of the locals.. Im not much on fried seafood, but I am sure it is as tasty as anything else on the menu.. You can't stop me from going there!! Great staff, always prompt, freindly with grat personalities,, Pappadeaux knows how to select their staff.. Kudos to you all,, and oh hey, lets not forget to tip our hats to the chef!! You are the focused staff member since you do all the cooking,, although there may be more than one chef on staff,, kudos to you all!!

MY REVIEW: My new favorite dish is anything with beurre blanc sauce! Had grilled talapia with shrimp, crabmeat, capers and tomatoes on top of beurre blanc (which is a whipped acidic reduction of white wine, lemon and butter). This was my first experience with this sauce and I'm blown away by how much more I prefer it over a heavier cream sauce. Usually I stay with fried seafood here, but this dish caught my eye (I think it is called Coasta Rica Grilled Talapia Lafayette). So glad I got out of my fried seafood comfort zone. Highly recommend! Demostrates the versatility of this kitchen. Sides were excellent: spaghetti squash and maybe the best green beans I have ever had. Just a wonderful meal @ $20.
I have never had anything but good service at any Pappas-owned restaurant, and tonite was no exception. Our young waitress was new, didn't know the menu very well, but was eager to learn----asked seasoned servers when she didn't know the answers to our inquiries and even engaged us in conversation to ask quesions about our food after we finished eating. I always ask for remoulade instead of tartar sauce. Our server wasn't sure what remoulade was. And she had never tasted beurre blanc (neither had I till tonite!) so she inquired when I said I liked it so much. I think it would be a good idea to allow new servers to taste some of these things so they can offer informed suggestions.

MY REVIEW: I loved the crabcake and boiled shrimp that I had on my last visit to Pappadeaux. The best part of my visit was my server, Michael K. He was knowledgable and friendly. I wished that he was still in the bar, as I prefer to sit there. He is my favorite waiter! He entertains my party everytime we come in.

MY REVIEW: Pappadeaux is really nice in regards to how its designed inside. The menu and price is not consumer friendly however. The particular lunch menu I saw only had 4 items which doesnt give you many options. I did have a $10 fatty steak dripping in grease at lunch. I wasnt impressed but did eat around the fat and grease. My friends orders looked good. Fried shrimp / catfish but the serving size was kind of small. Ive had better, fresh food for the same prices. I wont return.

MY REVIEW: Pappadeaux's has become our favorite seafood place to go to. They serve the BEST Crab Cakes in Houston as far as I'm concerned. There is very little breading, mostly crab and a sauce with crawfish (to die for) on top and topped off with fried sweetpotatoe pieces. The fried shrimp and stuffed crab are good too, although the stuffed crab does have alot of breading.
All of the seafood is seasoned well and not overly spiced. The mash potatoes which you can order instead of frenchfries need a bit of work though--more seasoning or gravy. The bread they bring you before you eat could use some work on too, but all in all the place is fabulous!

MY REVIEW: I'm usually a big fan of the Pappadeauxs, and especially this one. I've dined and taken out and rarely had a complaint, but it seems that the local chain has put volume above service.
My order was simple: shrimp dinner with baked potato, salad, garlic bread instead of regular and bread pudding. Given that it's take out, I don't expect it to be pipping hot or dressed on a plate, but come on... The take out staff directed me to the bar to pick up my order, which was different since they have a dedicated takeout station, but no harm. The bar was crowded and it was difficult to get the bartender's attention. When I did, he still had to go back to the kitchen to find my order. Then it came out missing the potato and the bread pudding - good thing I checked the bag myself becuase the poor bartender was being stretched between takeout and serving the bar. When he brought the potato out the container felt stone cold. Again...why not let the takeout staff handle their own station.
Once I got home, and put it together, I discovered the potato had been sliced open and was not only cold, but old as well. There were no condiments, and the bread pudding was way below their standard. I was very disappointed, and ready to write Pappadeaux off my list. This is not the only Pappa's establishment that has given me pause, and I'm far from the last person who has a complaint about their service. They are a big chain and I'm sure mishaps and bad days are ineveitable, but it seems that they need to send quality control out to see how things are being run.
