MY REVIEW: My husband and I really enjoy the food and service here... unfortunately it always FREEZING cold in here - Same problem at all the Papa's. And we just moved here from Canada a year ago! It's so cold that that we don't enjoy our time in the restaurant and don't order margarita's any longer either. This last trip, we brought friends that were visitng from Canada and my friends actually went outside halfway through dinner to warm up!

We used to put up with it because we enjoyed the food so much, but with so many other great restaurants in Houston to choose from, there's just no need to suffer.

MY REVIEW: I was disappointed with the food. It was not as good as it used to be. I agree with the last reviewer. Their food are bland and lost the cajun flavor. The dirty rice are dry.

MY REVIEW: Very disappointing. I love seafood and anything from pappadeaux's. I don't mind the prices but the food has lost its 'cajun' taste. My menu orders have been very 'bland' and this is very unusual for this location. My last 3 visits have been terrible along with the wait. I GIVE UP!! I love Pappas but will no longer visit this location.

MY REVIEW: Strong point the atmosphere is nice. It was a Sunday and the church crowd was there and I stopped in to get some food to go and to use a gift card that was given to me for working a holiday weekend. It was worth about 30 dollars. I stopped in to get Jumbo Shrimp. I had called in and my food was ready. The young man who was working the food to go counter might have been a little new. He did not know how to use my gift card. After 20 minutes I was still standing there. He got the help of another employee and together they could not get it ring up. I asked if there was a problem with the card, they said no. By this time my food was VERY cold I had reached into the bag and I felt how cold it was, the salad was also wilted at this point. I asked if I could get another order and they said no that food was fine. I said no it was cold and the salad was now wilted while I waited for them to figure out how to use the card. I requested to speak to the manager and after another 20 minutes of waiting I finally gave up. I said just keep the food and the card. I will NEVER visit here again. It is the third and final bad time I ever patronize a Pappas family restraunt. I then went down the street to ANOTHER local seafood restraunt and ordered the same thing and got it to go and it was GREAT!

MY REVIEW: A friend and I decided on a whim to drive to Kemah Sunday morning. We got to Pappadeaux's around 11:30. We arrived right before the lunch crowd. We asked to sit on the balcony so we could watch the boats. I started with a dozen oysters, and they were so fresh and briny. My friend started with the crawfish. The few I tried were tasty, but it was very messy. We both had the salad/w/bowl of seafood & sausage gumbo lunch special. The roux was good and the soup was full of seafood and sausage. Our waitress was very attentive. I'll be back!

MY REVIEW: We enjoyed our meal at Pappadeux on a recent trip to Houston. The service was very good, and the food was tasty. The servings were huge, and we could not finish it all. We are from Canada, and can't get over how large most restaurant serving sizes are. The only drawback was that it was very noisy, and I did not like that. I would recommend this restaurant. The food was yummy!

MY REVIEW: The service was a little slow getting started but once our order was in, it was very good. Oysters Pappadeaux were excellent. Hot but not over cooked. I have a favorite dish - grilled Salmon with Yvette sauce. The waitress explained that I would not get a whole fillet but would get 4 small pieces of Salmon as the only Salmon fillet they now have is for the Cedar Plank Salmon. She explained that comes pre-seasoned and couldn't be grilled. Okay. It was cooked correctly - flaky and moist but the sauce wasn't what I'm used to. First, it was extremely oversalted and the underside of the third (served 3 small pieces, not 4) had a distinctly orange flavor! Plenty of crayfish, shrimp, spinach, and a few mushrooms but the base sauce was weak, thin, and oversalted. The Key Lime pie was one of the best I've had and plated very atrractively with rasberries and blueberries. I will go back but will not order Yvette Sauce at this location.

MY REVIEW: I visited the Houston airport location and I must say I was thoroughly pleased. I ordered the Blackened Catfish, what a treat!! I wasn't hungry when my plate arrived, yet the presentation was awesome, the portions were generous, everything was excellent. Being an amateur 'chef' I find it hard to get nicely Blackened food. It's usually under-seared or overcooked and dry. Not at PAPPADEAUX!!

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit to this Pappadeaux's, and it was a good experience. I went at lunchtime on a Friday and was disappointed to find there is no lunch menu. So I was stuck paying the full dinner prices.

However, everything went better after that. Our server was fast and friendly. I ordered the "Pappa's Greek Salad" and she prepared it right at my table. It was very good. My lunch companions dinners were good too.

Overall, a positive experience. I would go back.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I are regular patrons of this particular restaurant. We normally like to eat at this locations on Sundays at noon, but after the last three experiences, we will probably not return.

I am a lover of raw oysters on the half shell and I look forward to oyster season. Since the oyster season began in September, I have been told on three separate occasions that this particular restaurant is "out of raw oysters", so they are unable to serve them to me. I graciously accepted the inconvenience the first two times it happened, but when it happened on October 21, I angrily left the restaurant, saying that I would not return.

If you wish to keep me as a customer, PLEASE make certain that this restaurant keep an adequate supply of raw oysters on hand for your customers on Sundays during the oyster season!

MY REVIEW: Not much to say about the food...the staff completely ignored us as we stood at the door for 10 minutes. We had time to look at the menu and notice the high prices and then decide it wasn't worth it to beg to eat there. I would think they would have a hostess at the door at 5:30pm. We ate a fine meal next door at P*apasitos Cantina...spent about $50 there. Your loss Papadeaux.

MY REVIEW: Had not been to Pappadeaux's in a year or so.

SALTY SALTY SALTY

We both order caesars but could not eat them they were so salty - I thought maybe it was the anchovies so we didn't say anything. I ordered grilled chicken; husband ordered filet mignon. He got a horrible cut, although it was cooked perfectly, I couldn't eat mine for the salt!!!!!

Asked to speak with a manager, he took 50% of of our $70 bill and gave us a gift card to return with. We still had to pay for crappy food.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I are new to the Woodlands area and Texas in general. A lot of our newfound friends said we just had to try this place out. After all the hoopla, we finally gave i na tried it out. The food was exceptionally delicious. We had the ponchatrain fish with rice and we absolutely loved it. Our server Christina was also stellar. We will continue to come back and hope to relive that delightful experience.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I dine at the restaurant every Friday night. The service is always wonderful and friendly. We have had Ryan as our waiter several times and each time the service is better than the time before.

The food is always DELICOUS! I swear they must 'clone' their chef crew, because I can count on all of it tasting fantastic! It's also a comfort food when one of us is ill. A bowl of Crawfish Bisque makes you feel better when you have a cold.

I'll go back every Friday...............YUMMMM!

18165 I-45, The Woodlands, Texas 77385  936.321.4200

MY REVIEW: Typically, I love this place. However, we usually eat there for dinner but on two separate occasions approximately 4 weeks apart, we decided to go for lunch. BIG MISTAKE. Who knows if the food was good - the service was TERRIBLE.

The first time, we basically had to beg for a server to pay attention to us. After flagging one down, we did have our order taken and food finally served. We decided it must have been an "off" day. We can forgive one bad experience. On our second visit, the same thing happened! The restaurant was probably 40% occupied for lunch and we were seated behind a column almost on top of other diners. This, even though the remaining restaurant was basically empty. Lightening stuck twice and again - we were completely ignored. We felt we were in "no man's land" and we really were! After 20 minutes of being invisible, we got up and left. As we were walking out, the hostess said "thank you for coming - hope you enjoyed your meal". I turned to her and said we were never served - not even water! She replied "sorry". We walked out saving the probable $35 lunch price, went down the road to C*huey's and had a great lunch.

After waiting 3 days for my anger to subside, I went on the website hoping to let someone know what happened. The wedsite does not allow you to report anything on line - you have to search for a number and then call to speak with someone. I did this and after being transferred to 4 different people - to whom I had to retell the event each time - I reached someone who asked for my personal information so the manager could call. Big mistake. About 7 days later, someone did call during normal working hours while I was at work and left multiple messages on my machine requesting a phone call back. I did not want to relive this incident over and over again but I did try to call this person back 3 times leaving my own messages. I don't ever want to go back to The Woodlands location of Pappadeaux's. The entire experience was a hassle - from the original dining experiences to the phone calls to Customer Satisfaction. Yuck. I still like the restaurant but will visit the 1960 location. I've never been disappointed there. Pappadeaux's - you need to revise your Customer Satisfaction program and allow diners the opportunity to contact you on the website. Time is money and you've wasted enough of both for me!

MY REVIEW: We go about once a month and are delighted by the atmosphere, food and service just about everytime. Our server, Gabe, was especially helpful in deciding entrees and we finally settled on the stuffed snapper which was beyond exceptional as he had promised us. The SWAMPTHING drink is always one of our favorites and we adore the nice selection of wines by the glass AND bottle. if you can muster some room after their generous portions of food, try the creme brulee or the chocolate pie, they are both fantastic. we'll definitely keep frequenting this location in the future.

MY REVIEW: There were seven people in our party and no complaints, just oohs and aahs1 One member of our party has eaten crab cakes in many areas of our country and considers himself an expert. He has now put Pappadeaux crab cakes into the No. 1 position! We enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food, along with an attentive waitress making our evening a very pleasant dining experience. Will we eat in a Pappadeaux Restaurant the very next chance we get? You bet!!!

MY REVIEW: Perhaps it is just the Seabrook location, and I really hate to add a bad review, but I love Pappadeaux - and this was not a good experience. The waiter was inexperienced, unknowledgable, and inattentive - worse, however, was the Blackened Oyster Fondeux - Shrimp & Crawfish we kind of fishy, not nearly the high quality we have been used to. The rest of the dinner was so-so, AND I agree with a prior reviewer - $7 for a Baked Potato and Side Salad is ridiculous.

MY REVIEW: We decided to try this joint on this side of the world after the massive traffic trying to get to the otherside of the canal (Kemah) and couldn't have made a better choice. The Kemah waterfront is okay if you like the commercial overkill but the side of this one is much original and relaxing. When you arrive, you're met with good ole Zydeco/blues band performing on the front porch and the wait is not bad, averaging about 45 minutes. So you get to enjoy the great music sipping on a excellent made bar drink while your table is called. Want to dance? Go right ahead, there's plenty of room. What can I say about the food - some of the best seafood in Texas. Never had a bad dining experience in any of the Pappadeaux joints in town. The food quality and service has always been up to par. So next time you're in the Kemah district, try this place, it's heaven without the kiddie monsters that swell the otherside.

MY REVIEW: I am sorry to report one of the absolute WORST dining experiences we've ever endured. My kids love Pappadeaux's (I'm OK with it) and they often choose it for special occasions; such was the case on my son's 18th birthday.

Problem 1) Extremely loud speaker system and unnecessarily long wait. Since our last visit, Pappadeaux's has installed a speaker system to "call" (I really mean YELL) out table numbers when ready. Rather than install a discreet hand-held Buzzer/Light system, they choose to scream out numbers via a loudspeaker. Now how anyone could possibly miss hearing their number, especially at the volumes yelled out over the amplified speakers, is beyond me; yet the hostess apparently feels they can. We were also appalled that they would yell out numbers 4-5 times over a 10 minute period! Clearly those folks left! After this went on several times I asked how many times and for how long they would continue to yell out numbers??

Problem 2) The service was horrible; and this after the waiter politely engaged us at first and found out we were celebrating an 18th birthday. I expected a royal treatment, not what followed. We ordered boiled crawfish as an appetizer along with 4 dinners (total cost was $75 before tax). The waiter NEVER brought out bread for us. We had our boiled crawfish appetizer for EXACTLY 2 minutes when they brought out our dinners!!! Have you ever tried to put a platter of crawfish, the scraps bowl, 4 platters of food, 4 drinks, utensils, condiments, etc on a small square table for 4?? Good thing they refused us bread, it wouldn't have fit anyway! Well, all that did NOT fit on our table. We had to put the cracker dish, the salt/pepper shakers, the desert/drink flier, and the crawfish shell scraps bowl on the floor (this was all very elegant of course; probably violated some health code as well?!) Using the floor for non-essentials did allow us to leave our food on the table (unfinished appetizer and dinners).

Problem 3) Food quality was not as expected. The boiled crawfish was overcooked and limp/mushy. The platter of boiled crawfish contained ONE niblet-sized (1" long) ear of corn and ONE small boiled potato - for 4 diners!! The crawfish ettoufee tasted like flour (clearly the roux had not been cooked long enough). Not sure if the bread was any good or not?

When a family enters a restaurant celebrating an 18th birthday (and the staff knows that fact!), along with spending in excess of $75, they should not have to endure screaming hostesses, poor service (including omitting items like bread which every other table had), nor a clear effort to herd them out as fast as possible. I am appalled that our dinners were delivered just minutes after our appetizer arrived (at such a small table!)! Clearly they did not cook to order, the food (except the bread) must have been prepared ready-to-serve. I guess our "special" treatment must have been because our waiter knew that 18th birthdays were such a special occasion!!
