MY REVIEW: I am unsure why people would complain, this is not the O*utback, V*argos, or etc, I place it up there with C*apital Grill. This is a Continental restaurant, not place for ever tom, dick, and Harry. And is owned by people who geniune, I saw someone on here say oh the staff is hard to understand, my remark to that keep going to O*UTBACK honey this is not the place for you.

Me and My partner when for our 4th year. It was devine, the wine, the appetizers, the food, and the people were wonder, very romantic, simply wonderful. If you want simple one on one service with wonderful treatment it is a must, the no menu style is part of the charm, go to Germany, Go to France, and other countries they have little places just like this, that it takes months to get in the door. Lastly this is Continental Cusine and is ran on that guideline, so relax, be calm, do not be rude, and open your mind, and you will love it.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I stopped in to celebrate our recent wedding. I will start by saying that the food was good. It just was not great. I had higher expectations based on some of the positive reviews. I had chosen to dismiss the negative ones because a friend had also recommended the place. I expected the price - that wasn't an issue. I knew about (and was looking forward to) the "no menu" style from reading reviews, but it would have been nice if the waiter had explained it to us. We did not hear from the chef at all and we were the only customers there at the time. When I asked the waiter if he had any recommendations he told me that we could have "chicken, fish, beef, or lamb". He had absolutely no enthusiasm at all. The highlight was the bananas foster which was prepared in a very unique style. I would give the service a 6 out of 10, the entree a 7, and the dessert an 8. Overall it was nice, but for the same money I think we could have done much better somewhere else.

MY REVIEW: Not sure what the rave is about at this place? My husband and I ate there last night and I would give it, maybe a 6 out of 10. So what that the Cesar salad was made at the table, the dressing rivaled salad in a bag, the waiter was very difficult to understand (read that before) … that to me was important as there is no menu and ingredients are important to me. The crab & mushroom “plop” appetizer was mediocre… I had a filet, it was OK (hard to screw up), my husband had the seabass, it was OK. The veggies looked like they had been cooked in a microwave Ziplock steamer, very plain/bland, the mashed potatoes were OK. The service was poor (as I said, one guy you couldn’t understand and the other did not speak English) and we were never offered dessert. By that time I was like, who cares!

Basically no menu, poor service, high prices and sad ambiance have NEVER clouded my restaurant enjoyment but all sucked. I am all about good food and it was fair at best! P.S. some of the wine prices are 200% over Specs!!!

MY REVIEW: I must say that I love Fuad's. I can't believe there are people on here saying that it's way over priced, no menu, etc. Hello! That's the beauty of Fuad's. You can go in there and feel like a King and Queen and pretend that price doesn't matter even if for one night. If you are budgeting your dining experience then I'm sorry don't go into a restaurant before checking it out. I've been to F*ogo De Chao and I much prefer Fuad's and they are pretty on par with price. Fuad's is the place to go when you have the money to spend and I have a feeling that it may be "offending" to them when uneducated people come in there expecting to get royal service and pay a bill equal to that of O*utback Steakhouse. It's not going to happen people. Geez, I love this place and I am actually going there again tonight.

MY REVIEW: Fuad's is an excellent place to go to have a 1st class dining experience. I've been going there for years and the food and service is always second to none. No menu and a personalized service with the chef gives you an unique experience foreign to Houston. If you are trying to impress a potential client or that special someone, then Fuad's is the place for you. It seems that many of the complaints I have read on this site seem to come from people who have not been to a multi-course Continental restaurant (I could be wrong). Let me offer some advice so that your Fuad's experience is not an awkward one. F

irst off, order an appetizer, soup or a salad and don't be afraid to ask questions. The staff knows there is no menu and will have multiple suggestions. I suggest the Stuffed Mushrooms and Quail which is incredible. As for soups, try the Bisque (made with real crab meat). If you are looking for something a little cheaper than try the Onion soup or tabooli (They also have classic dishes: Shrimp Cocktail, Escargot, etc.). They have a Caesar Salad that they make at your table that is excellent. Next you order your entree; the chef is your guide, but you have to tell him what you are in the mood for. A good way to do this is to tell him the main ingredient you want: Beef, Chicken, Fish, Pasta, Steak, Lamb, etc. From there, he will throw out some suggestions, and I suggest to keep asking until you hear something you like. If you still have room, get a flaming dessert, you'll thank me later.

One last thing: I've heard a lot of people complain about not knowing the price, which is a valid concern. However, if you have to ask the price, then you probably don't belong at Fuad's. Sorry if that offends anyone but Fuad's is an establishment and is like no other. Yes, the inside is dark, and a bit 'dingy', but its got loads of character and the staff does their best to make you feel like a king. Don't be scared off by the non-believers.

MY REVIEW: Once was enough. Food quality - 4 on a 1-10 scale, service - 3, Prices - 10 - much too pricey for the quality. Do not intend to revisit. Be prepared for a shock when your food arrives and an even bigger shock when your check arrives.

MY REVIEW: I went to Fuad's last night with a friend and we were both really disappointed in the food. My friend had salmon which was overcooked, and I had a filet which was tough. The vegetables were ok, but nothing we had was anything to make us want to make a return trip on another day. The service was o.k., but I ran out of iced tea often and, considering we were the only customers in the restaurant the entire time we were there, I would have thought the service would have been much better than it was. We were there about 6:30 pm. We felt the prices were way overpriced for what you got, the quality of the food, service, etc.

MY REVIEW: It's been too long since anyone has posted a comment here. Fuad's deserves better. Once you go you will want to return, guaranted. It is romantic but a couple of guys going out would enjoy it as well. Drinks are make the Texan way, more drink than mixer. Attentive service (if you want it). Fab food, can not say anything bad about it. You do want to think about what you would like to have before you get there as the chef will come to your table and ask you what you would like to have and how you would like it prepared. There is no menu, just what you want. Do not let this intimidate you, just say fish or beef and he will create something for you....makes you feel really special!! As far as pricing goes, I have never been overcharged for what I received. Many times I was suprised that it was not more. FYI the banana foster everyone loves....you do not order it, it's on the house. Mummm I think I'll have to return very soon!!

MY REVIEW: My two brothers and I decided to go to Fuad's for one of my brother's last meal (Last Supper) before entering an alcohol rehab facility. We couldn't have chosen better. Drink service was excellent - we ALL got perfectly toasted. We ALL love food. The quail appetizer was to die for. The Ceasar salad was the best I ever had. We each ordered a different meat so we could all share. I ordered a perfectly cooker ribeye. One brother ordered a perfectly cooked rack of lamb. And my other brother ordered the best sweetbreads any of us ever had. We were pleasantly surprised at the bill which was $240. Given the drinks and outstanding food, we couldn't have asked for better. We pledged to return (without the drinking) as soon as my brother graduates.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. My husband and I have frequented Fuad's for years and even if we don't go there on a very regular basis, he always remembers our names and takes care to make sure we're treated just right. The food is always excellent from the filet to scallops or whatever makes you happy and the service is bar none. We even turned our kids onto the place and they go on their own every chance they get so it isn't a place strictly for the more mature crowd - younger people enjoy good food and good service too. If you want a good dining experience plus a very quaint ambience, try it - I think you'll like it. We sure do.

MY REVIEW: Romantic setting. Friendly service. Reasonably good food, but over priced for the quality. Not up to La Tour D' A*rgent in food quality or in service in my opinion. The "no menu" will leave you with a surprise when the check comes.

MY REVIEW: Very nice place for a first date. I had the most enjoyable time I have ever had on a date. The ambiance were very romatic and the food was better than average. I had the steak Dianne and it was the juciest and most tender piece of meat I have ever had. The Banana Foster was the sexiest desert I have ever had not to mention the best tasting. The quail was a nice starter as well. However the Banana Foster stole the show. The only weak point was when the party began to smoke however they did ask us was it ok before they started.

MY REVIEW: I have been to Fuad's about 4 or 5 times and am playing on going back as soon as possible. The food is magnificent, the best in town if you ask me. All the food melts in your mouth plus there is always something to watch and keep you busy at Fuads, for instance the bananas foster and the rack of lamb are both flamed infront of customers. This was a nice treat for my family and I. The service was friendly and very caring of all our needs. In my opinion the price was'nt steep at all. Im not concerned about the price because you get what you pay for and we felt like we recieve more than that everytime we go to Fuads.

MY REVIEW: I took my wife here for an anniversary, and we were intrigued by the format. But like other reviewers have noted, no menu means that you have no idea what the bill will look like. The atmosphere is cozy; it is dark, plush, and a little over-smoky; but it was nice enough overall. The food was simply fantastic. I had the duck, and have rarely had better. The service was very friendly, if a little slow, mainly because our server spent so much time hugging and welcoming the regulars that steadily streamed in throughout the night. If you have plenty of cash, a taste for excellent food, and are in search of "your restaraunt" where the staff is genuinely happy to see you, Fuad's is your place. My wife and I split a bottle of wine, and used an entertainment card, and our bill was in the realm of $150 with tip.

MY REVIEW: WHAT A SCAM!!! Without a doubt the worst dining experience. Rude service, bland food and ridiculous prices. From reading others reviews I see I am not the only one. Wish I would have checked them out here before I went. Kudos to this site!

MY REVIEW: one visit was enough for me and my friend. Beware any restaurant that does not have a menu. But it was too dark to read it anyway, plus smoke filled and the tables way too close together. I tried asking about prices and could not understand what he was saying. We had an entertainment coupon and they were *almost* rude about it. The food was bland, the wine very oaky and with the coupon our bill was over $100. for two entrees, salad and one glass of wine each. Phooey on Fuad.

MY REVIEW: Not cheap, but great food and service. The quail appetizer is incredible. Steaks as good as The P*alm at the other corner of the center, fabulous Oso Bucco as well. Strong drinks served in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. And they are open late which is very handy.

Concerned about the no menu service? Ask what the food costs when you order it. One of my new favorite hangouts.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went there not really knowing what to expect because we have never gone anywhere that they just ask you what do you want. We ordered snapper and got some funny looks when we did not want a salad, soup, wine or dessert...just snapper. The snapper really did not taste fresh and the veggies were bland. There was nobody in the restaurant and we know why because a restaurant that has no menu can charge you anything that they desire! Luckily, we had an entertainment coupon to give them (although our server did not like that), but it was still not worth it! It was a scam...we will NEVER return!

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend took me here for dessert after dining elsewhere. We had bananas flambay and it was quite romantic. The atmosphere is dimly lit and quite cozy. If you are looking for an intimate setting with a bit of privacy and romance this is the place. I had a great time. Can't speak to much on the food as I only had the dessert. It was really good and the fire that is added to this dessert when the licquor is lit makes quite an impression. Enjoyed it and will visit again.

MY REVIEW: We are two ladies who stopped in for an afternoon glass of wine. Between the two of us, we had 5 glasses. The bill was $60+. The Bartender just kept saying that we did not remember how many glasses we had. We do remember and this is a scam. Since then, I have found other reviews stating the exact same thing at Fuad's. Basicially, fraud.

MY REVIEW: Nice atomosphere, but very basic, bland food. The whole concept of no menu seemed interesting at first, but we were very disgusted when we received our bill for almost $90. It was absolutely not worth the price, the food wasn't that great. It's a price trap, very deceiving. The restaurant is a small "hole in the wall" and not even located in a great part of town. Don't waste your money here, go somewhere that is actually worth the price.

MY REVIEW: I have to say this was the best meal I have had in such a long time. The food was near perfect although the service started off slow, it did manage to pick up later. My date had mushrooms, crab and quail...it was amazing. I had escargot and they were excellent. I do have to say though that the best part of the meal was my Chilean sea bass....it was without a doubt the best fish I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was louder than the environment would suggest but it wasn't horrible. The only problem is without a menu you don't know the final cost which some people might not mind but it can be a surpise.

MY REVIEW: It was my Birthday and I wanted to try something different. My husband and I had a great time. The food and services were great. I had red snapper with mushroom served with special sauce. It was so good that I couldn't stop complimenting the dish. My husband had shrimps with scallops . It was also a delicious dish. The soup combo was different from the rest that I use to have. Very good soup. With 2 mix drinks, 2 entrees, a salad, bowl of soup = $98. No desert because we were too full. My husband and I will be back again this Valentines.

MY REVIEW: From the moments the amiable valet seizes your keys, you are whisked off to a wonderland of smells and tastes. With a very competent chef guiding you through your food journey and Barry White filling your ears, all senses are accounted for at Fuad's. The crab bisque is superb as well as the quail and crabmeat jalapeno app. for starters. Try a blue cheese stuffed filet in a delectable cognac sauce. Finish off the night with flaming dessert prepared tableside. I suggest vanilla ice cream topped with strawberries, pecans and chocolate sauce (to die for). Bring only a very special person for a great romantic time.
