MY REVIEW: Nice, casual family or date atmosphere. Staff was very pleasant and prompt. Shrimp were HUGE and delicious. Salad was fresh. Not my usual area of town, but I would certainly recommend to friends and family.

MY REVIEW: The original was on South Main .. I remember it from the late 40's.. which really dates me. Christies had stood the test of time like few others have.

I have never had a better fried shrimp, once I strayed off the seafood path for a steak, which to my surprise was wonderful! And try the stuffed fish.

It's a great dining event with lots of memories for us Christie's faithful seniors.

MY REVIEW: I own a house in Galveston also, so I know something about seafood. I have always been a seafood lover. I have tried fried shrimp in many resturants in many states and several different countries. Christies is the best shrimp I've ever tasted. I'm not kidding. I've been eating there every since I was a teenager. I'm 58 now. You can always count on seeing at least one family member there, but most of the time more than one. Their sauce is to die for. Salads are crisp and cold. Good deal for the money. The only reason I haven't been lately is, they are building a new resturant. Go christies. We need you in Sugarland. But until then, I don't mind the drive.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I eat out quite regularly and this was the best food and service we have had in a long time. We usualy eat on the north side of town where we live, but my son and girlfriend live off Richmond and we went their for our son's and his girlfriend's birthday (10 days apart) and we were all very pleased. We will be going back more often now and it is well worth the drive. I highly recommend this place!!!

MY REVIEW: You just can't beat the food. The salad ingredients are so fresh, salad dressing homemade. Yummy! The shrimp they are best! Keep up the good work.

The service is always top notch! This past visit was our 22nd wedding anniversary, our waiter was Jamey and he made the visit so special, was not intrusive at all. Just appeared when he needed to

You don't know what you are missing out on!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I used to visit Christie's back in the l980's. We moved to Northwest Houston and hadn't been back since then. Two weeks ago, I was in the mood for some fried shrimp, so I suggested to my husband that we go to Christie's. It has been over 20 years since we've been there and it was just as FABULOUS as it was in 1985! I forgot how GREAT their fried shrimp was! You get a large portion of FRESH GULF COAST shrimp (not some frozen shrimp out of a bag from Thailand), french fries and great cole slaw all for a very inexpensive price! The service was great, too! We will definitely go back to Christies, even though it's a bit far from our house. The food is WORTH IT!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have been eating at Christies for at least 45 yrs. We are now 49.We both used to eat at the old Christies on Fannin (in the med center), sat in the round booth. We ate there on special occasions. Who knows, we may have seen each other years before we met. We still eat there, comfort food for us. Still has that same great taste that we remember. Now we take our kids, but must drive 2 hrs. to get there. We would drive all day just to eat the shrimp dinner, its that good! Oh, and the roumalade sauce, the waitress knows to bring extra to the table because it tastes great on everything. My mouths watering now just at the thought of Christies. Road trip!

MY REVIEW: First let me say I haven't been to this Christies until recently. I lived in San Antonio from 1960-1990 and ate at the Christies there at least twice a week. Unfortunatley the San Antonio Christies closed down in the mid 90's to be replaced by a Whata*burger. I always ordered the "3 fried shrimp dinner with iceburg wedge salad, extra tomatoes, baked potato cooked well-done with sour cream and chives and two onion rings". There were 3 brothers that owned the Christies restaurants in SA, Houston, Corpus Christi and Austin and the only one remaining is the one in Houston. The fried shrimp at Christies in Houston are EXACTLY like the ones I craved from SA. The only problem I had was their home-made salad dressings were not the same as in SA. Other than that, I will return often for the BEST fried shrimp dinners anywhere in America!!! The rest of my family also eats at Christies often.

MY REVIEW: I was disappointed by my recent dining experience there. The service was very slow. The waitress was not very attentive - I ordered a raspberry margarita and received one with no identifiable fruit flavor; my friend did not get the cheesecake she ordered. The flavor of the food was unimpressive and not worth the price... I will not be coming back there...

MY REVIEW: The most incredible fried shrimp anywhere! I've been going to Christie's since I was a teenager forty years ago. No one else comes close to the quality of their fried shrimp dinner. This week my friend and I decided to split the 12 piece dinner with baked potato and salad. No problem! The service was great. Mrs. Christie is always so friendly. And did I mention the SHRIMP?!

MY REVIEW: I have been going to Christie’s since I was a little girl and now I am 34 years old. I now live in Austin, Texas. I am married and have a child of my own. When ever we go to Houston we ALWAYS go to Christie’s for their “BEST IN THE WORLD FRIED SHRIMP!” I am truly addicted to those delicious, perfectly fried treats! The place has never changed. I still feel like a little girl when I walk in and watch Mr. Christie walk around and greet the patrons. His wife and daughter Maria are so lovely! Always friendly and attentive. We always exchange a warm hug and then I am off to my little piece of Heaven on Earth. The staff is also excellent! They always remember your likes and dislikes and are eager to please.

I am hoping some day that we will move back to Houston so we can be closer to Christie’s............. oh yes and our families.

Keep up the awesome job Christie Family!

MY REVIEW: Blackberry Margaritas (from machine) were good but not worth $6.75. Salad dressings were very good, but salads were too small. I ordered a ccombination platter; my wife, the greek snapper special. The waiter delivered her a stuffed flounder entree instead. Waiter couldn't even identify the entre she was given and had to go in the back to find out. We had already waited too long for our entrees and chose to eat it anyway. It was all stuffing, hardly any fish. Baked potatoes take up most of the plate because the seafood portions are small. I got half as much shrimp, oysters and scallops as other places, but paid twice as much. Waiter charged me for broiled platter when I ordered and ate a fried. No plans to go back soon.

MY REVIEW: Just moved to the Houston area last month and have eaten at Chrisites four times already! They serve some of the best seafood anywhere and the "World Famous Fried Shrimp" and Trout Sandwiches are fantastic. They also have some of the best tasting baked potatoes and salad dressings. I plan on dining at least once a week at Christies from now on.

MY REVIEW: My company had an appreciation dinner in their banquet room on Monday night. The room was so beautiful and my co-workers and I said that it was some of the best service we ever had. The staff is just so nice! Maria, the manager was on hand overlooking everything. Also the food was so tasty and not over done with butter or sauces like some places. Portions were substantial and the dessert of pineapple cream cake was heavenly and light. I just wish the evening wasn't over so soon! Highly recommended ! oh, and having a truly PRIVATE room with doors was a nice surprise because most places say they have banquet rooms but they are just adjacent to main dining rooms. We'll be back.

MY REVIEW: I think the city of Houston should have a fried shrimp day dedicated to Christie's - I have traveled all over the U.S. and have NEVER found a restaurant that serves fried shrimp like Christie's. No one can beat them. It really is unbelievable. Just give me a bowl of remolaude, a dozen of those fried critters and I'm in heaven.

If you haven't tried them, caution- you will become addicted- craving them weekly. Houston is so lucky to have a place that has been in business for as long as they have- what like 80 years or something? - they know there stuff. Just don't all go at once- I am very spoiled and do not like to wait to feed my addiction!

MY REVIEW: Christies Seafood Restaurant is famous for their fried shrimp dinners and rightfully so. They are hand-breaded, large and very good. The baked potato came "foil-wrapped" and the fried onion ring was very crisp and hot. I really love Christies "made-from-scratch" salad dressings and sauces. The "1000 Island" dressing was so good I bought two pints to go! Can't wait to make my own wedge salad ala Christies! I have become a regular customer now that I've moved to the area.

MY REVIEW: The seafood here is great. There were 3 in our party. We started with the Oyster Thermidor. They were served hot and delicious. The other person in our party had the "soup of the day". The soup was shrimp chowder. It was served hot and not spicy at all. Next came our salads. They were served chilled and we had them with thousand insland dressing. The dressing was great. It had to be homemade. For our meal, two in my party had the fried shrimp with baked potato. The shrimp were huge and breaded just right. They are well worth the price. I had the Christie's Pride. It is fish topped with shrimp and crabmeat in a wine/cream sauce. It comes out still wrapped in the foil it was cooked in. It had to be some of the best fish i have ever eaten. It just melted in your mouth. We have been here quite a few times now and will come back for years to come. We highly recommend Christie's. It is great food in a very pleasent surrounding.

MY REVIEW: I love, love, love, love, LOVE Christie's. I've being going there for as long as I can remember. I only wish I lived closer so I could go more often. The calamari is great. I also love their shrimp fettucini alfredo. The staff is very attentive, and Mrs. Christie is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. I would definately reccomend this place to ANYONE who wanted delicious seafood.

MY REVIEW: First visit to this restaurant in fifteen (15) years. I could not believe how good the fried shrimp tasted. They are large and hand prepared. You call tell the difference from "fresh" and convenience packaging (pre-breaded and frozen) used by most restaurants. The catfish was good as well. Next time I will definitely try the "1000 Island" dressing they are famous for. By the way, I ordered extra tartar sauce on the side with my meal, not knowing the remoulade sauce is the preferred choice. However, the homemade remoulade sauce is excellent; but, both are equally good.

MY REVIEW: My uncle took me to Christie's for my birthday last week and it was great. We had the wedge lettuce salad with their "homemade" 1000 island dressing (they even gave me an extra slice of tomato) and fried shrimp dinner. The fried shrimp were the largest I've ever seen and cooked perfectly. I will return again soon and try the trout sandwich.

MY REVIEW: Had a business lunch there. Have driven by for years and was aware of good reputation. Hardly any customers, probably because seems a little pricey and there are many other restaurants more upscale near by. Access is easy to parking lot and either to get back on Westheimer or head down to Richmond. A family style place reminiscent of the 1970s more expensive restaurants, which I like. Service was fast and you were not rushed. The salad was fresh and excellent but could have been larger. I had crawfish etouffe. Nothing exceptional about etouffe. The broccoli, brought later, was barely warm. I might go back to try their shrimp mentioned in reviews above but not for anything else.

MY REVIEW: Christie's fried shrimp are the finest I have ever tasted! They are huge and three of them will fill you up along with the wedge salad and baked potato. Their salad dressings are all made fresh daily and the thousand island is awesome! My cousin recommended Christie's to me many years ago and I am glad he did.

MY REVIEW: The seafood, especially the fried shrimp was fantastic!! The shrimp were huge, plump, and had just the right amount of breading (not too much.) You could taste the delicious freshness of the shrimp. The salad and loaded baked potato was wonderful. The salad was cold and crisp with homemade dressing. The loaded baked potato was hot and stuffed with bacon, chives, cheese, sour cream, and butter. The onion rings they serve with your meal were tender, hot, and yummy. My family and I try to eat at Christies as often as possible. The prices are also reasonable considering experiences at other seafood reataurants. We LOVE Christies!!!! You will not be sorry you ate there!!!!

MY REVIEW: We felt like fried shrimp which is something I have not eaten in years.I could not remember where to go,but when I was a kid we used to go to Christies.Well, let me say these are the freshest, most tender, delicious fried (not too much breading)shrimp I have ever eaten.Fried in oil that is clean and hot. They were crunchy without being dried and too oily from being left in oil that is not hot enough. The salad was chilled and crisp.Salad dressing are all made on the premises.Simple classic seafood,I will go back to try the lunch specials. This place is a old fashion gem.I highly recommend!
