THIS JULY, THE NAME ON EVERYONE’S LIPS WILL BE FRANK’S

TWO GENERATIONS OF FOOD FAMILIES

MIX IT UP IN ONE DELICIOUS NAMESAKE

HOUSTON, TEXAS…What’s in a name?  Quite a bit, if the name is Frank.  For two generations of food families in Houston, it stands for authentic recipes, hospitality, and quality.  And, this July, it signals the beginning of a new tradition on Houston’s restaurant scene.  Frank Crapitto and Frank Butera announce their latest creation—Frank’s Chop House.

Frank’s Chop House will provide a fresh alternative to the traditional steak house.  Chef and co-owner, Frank Butera, whose family owned Butera’s Grocery for years, teams up with owner, Frank Crapitto of Crapitto’s Cucina Italiana to provide a most unique culinary experience.  Locally sourced and grown produce, beef, grass-fed porter house veal and gulf coast seafood will be artfully prepared and presented.  Seasonal menu changes will reflect the finest regional food influences.  The heart and soul of this restaurant is found in its New American cuisine.  A delicate balance of craft and seasonal fare will awaken your fondest food memories.

Both Frank’s want their new namesake to offer Houstonians comfortable food and surroundings.   “Our goal is to blend the familiar with our unique touch.”  The food is the star here and both Frank’s think that’s the way dining should be.  So, don’t look for trendy décor, but be prepared for a menu which merges the many food influences found in the region.  “Soulful cooking”—that’s how Frank Butera describes it—“a chef should put his soul into what he serves.”

Butera mastered that craft after many years in the kitchen with Michael Tusk of Quince in San Francisco—2007 recipient of the famed Michelin star.  “I didn’t even own a paring knife, but Mike gave me a chance.  He took me to the farmer’s markets and taught me the importance of fresh ingredients.  I am looking forward to working with local growers in our area to give Houstonians a taste of fresh food, artfully prepared and presented.”

Frank’s Chop House opens this summer at 3736 Westheimer, east of the Galleria and Highland Village.
